I live in Pinedale, WY, Work in Jackson, WY and have a second home in Victor, ID. All have messages out saying please don’t come visit now, Jackson is on Lockdown. These are all Recreational hubs with low populations and lots of public access. The fear is that as all the restrictions are applied in more populated areas, people will pour in and overwhelm limited medical capacity. I have come to the realization that my travel plans are going to have to be on hold for a while. I just hope to get to lake Powell in the next 6 weeks !!!!

My son live's in Mountain view Wy, he work's at a Trona mine there, they just had there first case of the Virus at the mine. Probably a good thing some of these town's are getting serious about it.

Te mine is not in Muntain view, but like 30 minute's from there.

Mountain View is a nice place.
We have several good friends who live there.
Would sure be nice to have the Gorge that close. It’s about five hours from here

Where you from Treetop? And are you ready to go catch that Crappie?

I live a few miles west of Fillmore Utah.
I am really looking foreword to going fishing with you, and catching some crappie.
But, I fall into the high risk group with this corona thing.
I’m over 60.
In the last two years I’ve had my lungs fill up with blood clots, which has left my short of breath,
I’ve had part of my guts removed,
and did a round of chemo for lymphoma.
So I’m trying really hard not to get sick.
We’ll have to wait a while and see how things go.

At some point in time the question of if any of these limitations fall within the Constitution will come up.

No doubt. There were precedent setting court cases in the 60’s ruling that you cannot impede travel between states with blanket regulations. You can quarantine individuals but not just because you came from a broudly defined region....After all we are all citizens of the same country....strongly discouraging and shutting down access and services are a different story...

If you go the Utah State CDC posts it lists counties and closures. San Juan county is asking for people to NOT make them a destination, officers are checking plates of campers and giving them 48 hours to leave. They are keeping a data base and if the same people are found to have just moved to another spot they will be cited. It states travel through their county is fine, they just don’t want you to stop unnecessarily or camp and stress their resources with the problems that follow rock climbers and hikers. I spent a lot of time yesterday looking at where I can go and can not. State Parks in Utah are open to residents of the county the park is located in only. No out of county visitors, limits where I can fish for sure.
Hope this helps

AP public launch ramp was open, we were out at 7:45AM, no one in the guard gate, no one in the ranger shack, back at 6:45PM, still no one appearing to be working by the ramp.
Who did we see? Some campers across the channel from AP launch ramp; two fishing boats in the main channel; two houseboats coming off the lake in the main channel; one houseboat camped on our way out. We went to our usual spot at the back of Last Chance, two different fishing boats went by to fish the back of that arm. We saw one other pleasure boat on the way in. All in all, successful social distancing, never within 100 yards of any one else. I was surprised how many boats we saw.
It was a beautiful day with light breezes. I read the governor's order to still allow recreation as long as you are socially distant, so plan to head out again the next warm and not too windy day.

We are at war. It is estimated at least 100,000 people in this country will die in the next few weeks. Our president has instructed everyone to stay at home and keep your families safe. Our first responders are risking their lives trying to deal with people who have become sick because they came into contact with someone who may have had the virus and didn't even know it. Do show a little respect by staying home. Protect your family by not becoming part of the problem by taking risks of leaving you home PLEASE.

So how did you get your boat inspected? Did you go down the ramp during daylight and give the required information while staying at least 6 feet away from everyone. Did you buy extra food to take with you? The states and counties you traveled through all say recreational travel is restricted at least in Utah and Arizona is actually requiring written permission for essential travel for workers. Any time you go out you are taking a risk that people may actually end up dead because of. What makes your wonderful trip worth the risk of someone losing their life. This virus is no joke. Please stay home and keep your family safe and encourage others to do so until we can control the virus. The president of this great country has asked this of you.

Actually it is very much possible. I made it to the lake and the only person I came close to was the guy at the top of the ramp informing and gathering info about the mussels program. I told him to stay back and refused to take papers from him. VERY, VERY POSSIBLE. You are doing much worse going to the grocery store every week buddy. Honestly, I'm over getting lectured from the internet warriors out there. This is a fishing forum and I see you joined yesterday to lecture people. If you dont have something to contribute to the site please leave.
