The number of people willing to comply is fluid. If the food runs out it is lot lower. In the first month it is higher than the third month, Seeing that in Italy. Since this timeline is open ended calculations have to be made. If you have no money and no job then the threat of a fine is not a big deal. So then the cops have to threaten to shoot you. Like in the Philippines.

There goes the idea of fishing for sustenance out the window...what ever happened to “...teach a man to fish and you feed him for life”?
 
My wish is that this ends quickly with fewer deaths and bankrupt people and everyone gets healthy and comes back to enjoy what the federal government made possible for all. Stay safe. Stay home. Stay healthy. Best wishes and condolences for those who are suffering.
 
There are several ways this can end. One, the weather gets warm and everyone ignores the rules. The governor relents. Some old people get sick and die. Society resumes after herd immunity is achieved.
Two, the governors do not relent until the food and money runs out and looting and violence start. Then some people of all ages die from violence and disease and eventually herd immunity is achieved but we are all poor.
Three, social distancing lowers cases enough that society resumes enough to keep people from rioting but every month or so clampdown have to be reapplied due to no herd immunity. Basically an ebb and flow model of lockdown that could last until a vaccine arrives in 12-18 months.
Four, a miracle cure is discovered. This seems to be what a lot of people are counting on.

This exercise in state's rights is delaying victory and doing a lot of damage to the economy and costing a lot of lives. I believe in states rights but the state I was born in motto is "United we stand divided we fall." The same thing is happening with the National Parks except now the head of the Department of Interior is having to deal with locals and state governors with no guidance from our president sadly except "Stay at home." Only when we are able to test everyone will we have an idea of how long the problem will last. Until then "Stay at home." is the only and best solution. Not what any of us wants to hear but you get only what the president you selected is willing or able to give the country.

I have personally fought and shed blood for yours and my freedoms that you so eagerly want to give up. I had hoped that this site would remain a respite from the truly dangerous disease of socialism spelled (Communism) that I and 5 generations of my family have fought, bled, and some died to defeat. Please keep your political commentary to yourself when on this site. It rings as hollow and offensive as does your chosen moniker.
