Bullfrog North (Executive) Ramp

I just got back from 3 days at Bullfrog. The Marina was pretty much deserted until a few more folks showed up late yesterday - it is incredible to see the low water in person. The pictures really don’t do it justice. They are making progress pouring concrete at the top of the ramp - and will eventually work on the bottom as the water continues to recede. At a certain point it won’t make much sense to extend the concrete further because the grade at the bottom starts to flatten out too much (around 3520). Our boat (on Q Dock - which is close to the shore) is currently sitting in 28 feet of water. First photo is of the rock ledge looming over the slips - this is the edge where the walkway was previously connected to the slips. They were placing concrete blocks to delineate parking spaces - and access to the slips was fairly convenient, but the ramp is still pretty steep. Another boater we met was moving his cruiser down to Wahweap to pull it out. . . he told me the water is about 5’ deep near the entry to Knowles Canyon. . .and he was the only boat on the water. I saw at least 5-10 boats headed west today between Grand Junction and Green River. . . Hope if they were headed to Powell they weren’t planning to get on the water ! This is going to be a very interesting year !

Lets hope thay have the time to remove the coffer dam Before the water starts to rise, if not we will have the same problem we had last year with the main ramp coffer dam that they didn.t remove. Sq
They tried to remove it in 2019, but the ground was too soft for the heavy equipment. Seems like it would be feasible now, but would only buy a couple feet of elevation for the main ramp.

Thanks for those pictures! Mighty impressive for a government contract I will say....hat's off to those folks making that/this happen!
Very good friend of mine and avid boater/powell'r, on the NPS side signed the contract to make this happen. I personally have thanked him for this many of times already :) he's very thorough and does his research. he like all of us also wants to get our boats on the water! haha.
 
Does anybody actually know if they will use boiler plates before the water is deep enough to use the concrete portion of the ramp?
 
In order to use boiler plates there would need to be a solid surface below the ramp at the proper grade. My guess would be that about a 5ft. rise in the lake will be needed before launching is available.

Probably well into June the way things look this year.
 
Looking good so far,
Now have some of you math and calculation folks figured out what the rise or lake level needs to be to safely launch or retrieve a 70 foot houseboat ?
And then same type calculations for say a 25 foot run about. ?
 
So, is it the opinion of WW sages they will leave the 'coffer dam' (can't say dike/dyke or whatever is woke/stupid these days) and let the rising water reach that nice concrete?

(You gotta hand it to the cement/concrete professionals.....they do a great job.....)
Be nice if they got rid of it but appears with a few bass boats loading we can blow that right out of there.;)
