Bullfrog North (Executive) Ramp

That drop off at the end of the executive service ramp is a bit more than I thought would be there! Moving dirt is the expensive part of heavy civil projects, I sure wish we had some kind of a drawing to know what they are dreaming up there.

There is not a whole lot of gradient on the bottom after they remove that spit of land (rock?) off the end of the current executive ramp. That's the same kind of problem they had with the spur off the main ramp.

Pardon the ‘south-ender’ ignorance…is this the Executive Services Ramp that will be extended? If it can be pulled off by May like they did at Stateline, it will be a welcome improvement. Hopefully a lower level parking lot can be graded out and covered with road base at the same time. (Awesome pics, kudos to the pilot and photographer)

Ok, I'm a day late but just got back from Bullfrog today. The spur ramp is done for now.
You drive down past the steel plates and you see where someone tried to launch. The ruts are about 8" deep. On the other side of the peninsula, there is nothing but wet, grey muck.

Didn't see any activity on any ramps. There is a Dozer sitting idle at the North ramp and a loader doing the same at the spur ramp. View attachment 17075View attachment 17076View attachment 17077View attachment 17078
Thanks for posting these! Heaven knows the webcams are . . . well, never mind.

Last year they were parking quite a few vehicles and trailers on the gravel at the top of the concrete ramp. There is a bit of flat ground there, and the number of spaces needed is a small fraction of what is needed at Wahweap.

Yes! BOR outlook for lake levels issued this week shows water reaching above the end of this ramp in May and staying there for the entire summer before going back down later in the fall. Excellent to see this work moving forward. I cancelled a Memorial Day trip because I was not a believer the construction would be done or that lake level would allow ramp to be functional. Wishing happy times for those who had greater faith than me. I will be back…in September when crowds go down.

It has been a while since I have been on, so apologies if there is a post somewhere in here already addressing/answering this topic and question. I noticed on the NPS ramp condition link that there is planned construction to extend the executive (Bullfrog North) ramp with a completion date of April 2022. Does anyone know if this has even started? Any pictures? Our annual trip in normally the first week of May, but this would be hampered if there is no way to launch. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

P-O-C
My wife showed me pics of them pouring concrete last week. When she gets back i will ask where she saw that. They are working on it now.

It would be really ideal if we could also get a nice 4,000 ft. ribbon of asphalt stretching from the top of that ramp up to the old Bullfrog Marina store. That dirt road is going to take even more of a pounding than usual and you would think after 20 years of continuous use, someone might realize that it will probably be appropriate.
