Bringing back towards Lake Powell, here is a video of the best dog who was also the worst (fishing) dog. 9 years ago when I was trying to jig for stripers. One of the reasons he rarely joined me at Lake Powell, and had to stay somewhere else when I was fishing.

I have no problem with hunters and hunting wild game. If I wanted to share stories about hunting, I'd simply go online to a hunting website, not Wayne's Words where we share stories about Lake Powell. That's all I meant by it.

Last year, my wife and I went through one elk and two whitetail deer and were out of meat in July. I knew this year that two elk would be ideal and luckily drew an additional cow tag in excess to my Wyoming general tag, and having another little mouth to feed.
The freezer is more than topped off and I’m able to gift a bit of meat to those who need it, having also bagged a small whitetail buck and a pronghorn antelope but I make the antelope strictly into jerky….not because I don’t like antelope steaks but because we like having jerky to feed on through other hunts!

It seems that this time of year fishing stories and even hiking stories slow down to almost nothing, it was nice to see some posts after a couple of days away from the internet. I feel bad that some were bothered by the post but for some of us it was a welcomed site. I admire @JFRCalifornia for keeping actively going during the slow times with very cool subjects but for some of us this thread was a welcome site. This site is about all I do on social media anymore so thanks to ALL who responded or posted.
My GS is not only my fishing partner but my hunting partner as well. I was trying to get a picture of him and the dogs on point when the birds came up, I acted like a kid and threw my phone and proceeded to shoot in the air, good thing he got one! And no I didn’t get the picture either!

It is a tikka. Tikka t3 lite to be exact, in 300 win mag. It has been great for me, although we’re fighting a bit lately. Random “flyers” that aren’t me. I’m thinking I have damaged the crown just enough to have small accuracy issues. I have one little notch in the crown and it’s all I can think is the issue.
