Castle Rock in the middle (when lake is close to full pool, you can boat all around it) Wahweap Bay and Lone Rock beach far left and Warm Ck bay right. The Wahweap cut (or is it just a scar?) is visible below Castle RockView attachment 16995
Simply mind boggling to think how Much Snow it will take to even come Close to 2019 water levels or to fill back to Full Pool .....

I’ll post more pictures from a flight today that really deserve being in the afore mentioned category of “Unfavorite Pictures of Powell.” I’ve always taken the “glass is half full approach“ to past low lake levels, but this current lake level is painful to look at from above. Due to distance and altitude, it’s necessary to zoom in to see features. Unfortunately, all shots were taken in “live”mode by my sister so hopefully they load. If they don’t post or play well, I’ll dissect them and post Individual frames.
First photo is looking N at what remains of Bullfrog Bay, Halls Creek and Halls Crossing marina. View attachment 16991
Thanks for posting! Sobering images. Thank you for taking the time and effort to do a flyover. Would love it if someone could flyover the Upper end of the lake so we could get an idea of what kind of shape it's in too. I may try to do so but I don't have any intentions to get over there until October.

DR post edited with pic reattached. Seems to load ok on my end. LMK. These are the only photos my sister took. I knew they would be sobering to see the big picture. I’m not a regular “fly over guy” unfortunately and usually don’t take pictures unless people on the board are asking where the dirty water ends etc in the spring when I come down. My next trip will not be until sometime in the spring.
GEM, Does the steep part of the cart ramp at APM raise up like a drawbridge for adjustments to the floating dock, or is that an artifact in the photo?
RBB, maybe reload the page as I just edited the original post?

I don't think so, but I'm not 100%.

I used to keep my boat at APM but don't now, long story, so it's been a couple years since I was there.

Look carefully at the picture - you'll see 2 paths diverging as you approach shore on the cart path. The new one diverges towards the dam and you can see a "horseshoe" they've carved out on land to accommodate that.

Duh….Thanks… Got it now 🤪. The sunny part of the ramp just kept looking vertical to me. I’d never make it reading satellite images for DOD…
Making that access was no small feat to accomplish.

Tuesday-Friday, Jan 11-14, 2022 Another great trip…but aren’t they all???

Apparently someone’s “trained parrot” wasn’t so trained after all (2nd one found in as many years, gotta be expensive)

Rock Creek Bay is beautiful. Visited this feature right where Wayne and others have described. Someone help me out…what’s the preferred title of this location again?

Arch in main Rock Creek at the mouth on the right side near the entrance is Hole in the Roof Arch. Wayne Gustaveson editView attachment 16829View attachment 16830
I learned from my fishing partner when looking for fish you look for the fishes shadows not the fish itself. Sq

I am normally moored in the Arizona side of the Wahweap buoyfield year round (just off the tour boat docks) but I hauled out this winter. Without the ramp cams up and running I cannot see what is going on. I know for certain that there were no boats moored right off of old Stateline at our last trip of the year at Thanksgiving. They moved all the Utah buoyfield buoys and boats out of the way for the new Legacy Gustaveson ramp. Does anybody know what is going on with this move?
Thanks, Kilojuliett
