Apparently someone’s “trained parrot” wasn’t so trained after all (2nd one found in as many years, gotta be expensive)

Rock Creek Bay is beautiful. Visited this feature right where Wayne and others have described. Someone help me out…what’s the preferred title of this location again?

Arch in main Rock Creek at the mouth on the right side near the entrance is Hole in the Roof Arch. Wayne Gustaveson editView attachment 16829View attachment 16830T
Great!!!

If anyone has recent pics of the end of Rock Creek, that would be most appreciated.

In 1980, we boated to the end, by the cave, by the 'fast fading petroglyph of the baby on the cradle-board'' as Stan said in the 1980 map......we met some folks who were running out of food.....long story short, we shared our food, they stayed for 3 extra days with us, and we've been friends ever since......over 41 years.....:)

so that cave/cove at the end holds fond memories.....but I'd bet it's at least a mile from the lake now.....

Rock Creek Bay Thursday Jan 13, 2021 (Elev 3538 or so). The navigable end is just a few hundred yards past the extreme right in this photo. It shallows out pretty quickly beyond this point. Many open beaches at this level BUT be vigilant for whales and shallows as you near the end.

In lieu of a “NOT Favorite LP Pics 2022“ thread, I’ll post here.

Warm Creek side of Castle Rock Cut, Jan 12, 2022, Elevation approx 3538. The distance from the east end of the Cut to Warm Creek shoreline is beyond words. Bring on more snow…60’ this Spring 🤞

Thanks neighbor again for the great pics. I envy you making so many trips from down here at this end. If you had been sitting there even 20 years ago you would see nothing but water except for Castle Rock and the cliffs back behind What was once Warm Springs Bay.

I’ll post more pictures from a flight today that really deserve being in the afore mentioned category of “Unfavorite Pictures of Powell.” I’ve always taken the “glass is half full approach“ to past low lake levels, but this current lake level is painful to look at from above. Due to distance and altitude, it’s necessary to zoom in to see features. Unfortunately, all shots were taken in “live”mode by my sister so hopefully they load. If they don’t post or play well, I’ll dissect them and post Individual frames.
First photo is looking N at what remains of Bullfrog Bay, Halls Creek and Halls Crossing marina. FC0EB60B-0F3D-41C4-BAC9-71BC0D4983D7.jpeg

Next up is Dangling Rope. The final frame was blurred, so here is an extracted still. This view really shows how Wetherill and Mtn Sheep canyons are just becoming what their names imply again…canyonsView attachment 16998
