Panorama over Gunsight Bay from Alstrom Point, 4-21-21, with surface elevation at 3564. Tower Butte and beaches near the mouth of Labyrinth Bay visible at far right, Dominguez Butte in center distance, with Gunsight Butte in center left on opposite shore of the bay (visible below Navajo Mountain).

Here's another from Alstrom Point, this time toward the upstream side of Gunsight Bay. Taken 4-21-21, with the lake at 3564. The amazing thing about this view is to see Gunsight Pass clearly visible (to the left of the V notch along the wall on the opposite side of the creek, maybe a quarter of the way from the left side of the photo), which is navigable in a boat when the lake is full...

And finally, a couple shots of Warm Creek Bay as I was hiking along the cliff edge to the end of Alstrom Point, taken 4-21-21, surface elevation 3564. Clear view of Castle Rock and the very dry Cut right next to it, with Wahweap Bay beyond the Cut...

Wow. Can you land anywhere and keep walking? Or is it too muddy to approach the end of the lake? It would be great to be able to get to Explorer easily on foot, but I suspect there's some big perched pools in the way... thanks for posting...

We didn’t look that closely. But what I did see looks like it would be an.......adventure to try that. It looked really muddy.

Hope you can see the Otter's, we got to watch them up close for 20+ minute's before they went on there way. They rolled around in the sand and loved on each other, it was cool.View attachment 11899

Where were these otters? We see them a lot at the west end of the Rincon.
