I have launched my fishing boat a number of times from the site of the old SJ ramp. When the marina was abandoned the Park Service made them tear out the concrete or asphalt ramp but it was very usable on the gravel base. We always camped close to the launch area and never had problems with thievery but there was much vehicle broken glass and report of stolen items including tires. Nice to have the vehicle in camp for fuel saving, storage, etc. The fishing was great, not much pressure. We fished as far down as Spenser's Camp and Zahn. Now it's 20 miles to water. Chuck

So that's why I can't find the exact location on Google Maps. Many thanks for that tidbit.
