Thanks! Caught it at a good time of day, near noon on 8-19-18, lake level around 3600 or so..Wow! Talk about timing. That is an amazing shot of Cathedral.
Thanks, it is indeed the Cathedral... since the lake was at 3600 in this picture, it's got about 45 feet of water, plus or minus...Amazing picture! Is that Cathedral in the Desert? Looks like there is about 35 feet of water left there.

You're right--that place changes with every trip. Here's a few more photos to illustrate that... the first two shots were taken in August 2019, when the lake was at 3621. You'll see the first waterfall is gone, and you can boat around the bend to the next waterfall. At times like those, you can expect to see other boats, as in the photo.Last year I drove right over the top of that "fall" and went around the bend to the left quite a ways. I love that it's different on every trip!

The last three of photos are from August 2020, when the lake was at 3605. In these, you can see the boat I rented and pulled right up to the first fall, then walked to the second fall... Using the first fall as a landing site only works when the lake is at about 3605-3610 or so... but the trip is always rewarding at any lake level...

I was lucky enough to to do that last year with my wife, then when we went back a month later of course the lake had dropped and we had to stop at the first one. Like you I try to get there as often as I can, it’s never the same and always an awesome place. This year there was a bridal party and boats were anchored there and not leaving, most crowded I have ever seen it. 2020 for sure.Last year I drove right over the top of that "fall" and went around the bend to the left quite a ways.
