They need to let us launch at the Hobie Cat too, there are a lot spots there.
The latest USBR projection is that the lake will bottom out somewhere around 3565 in early spring. That could be wrong, but that’s the forecast. The rate of drop usually slows down a bit by February, but we’ll see.Do you guys anticipate losing a foot a week until May?
They must have reconfigured things around Bullfrog quite a bit in the past 20 years, because the lowest lake elevation between 1984 and 1996 was in Feb 1993 at 3612. Times have changed...I can't remember the year OR the elevation, except it was prior to '96, but we had a shock when we got there, and after some years before ('84), the new land store was below the elev. of the lake. if the executive ramp was there, it was off limits for public launching. We were told to launch at our own risk, in the gravel between the big rock and the end of the ramp. It was far enough past the rock that we turned a 50' truck and boat around in the gravel and backed in toward a line of extension of the ramp , which had to have been at least 50 yds. back to concrete.. Shallow , but solid and no problem...
Yes, the mind is a terrible thing to waste, or sometimes even to have in the first place...I just checked elev. up until 2000, and all higher than my recollection...so NOW I have no idea when it was..but I remember doing it.
The one big draw back with Halls is unknowns like to cruse the parking lots and liberate your hard earned stuff. My sure you lock everythingRelax and think positive. Winter weather is difficult to predict more than 2-3 days out. Two years ago at this time the snowpack was looking grim and we ended up with epic runoff. Other years start out great and fizzle. Just head down to Page. Halls is crowded, no services and full of Zombies and Crocs!![]()
I’m going down tomorrow as well. I think it will be open, but be careful when boating over to the courtesy dock. I usually boat straight out from the ramp until I’m past the cofferdam, then work my way over to the dock.I am headed to BF tomorrow, is the ramp already too low ? This thread just worried me I thought the ramp was still 5' above useable level ?
Thank you. Fishing ? We are arriving from Durango Co.I’m going down tomorrow as well. I think it will be open, but be careful when boating over to the courtesy dock. I usually boat straight out from the ramp until I’m past the cofferdam, then work my way over to the dock.
Yeah, going for stripers again. You?Thank you. Fishing ? We are arriving from Durango Co.
Yep striper fishing. Brand new boat hitting the water I have a terrible itch ! I'm sure we will see you there, can't imagine there will be anyone else.Yeah, going for stripers again. You?
And more importantly how much water is above the coffer dam. I remember having plenty of water to launch but only 3 or 4 feet above the coffer dam. Sq.If you guys get some pictures, I’d be curious to see how it looks right now. Good luck and have fun!
