Wayne, CONGRATULATIONS! What a huge accomplishment. Knowing you will still be on this site and on your lake to mentor and provide feedback makes me happy. You are an amazing example of consistency and dedication. You helped a huge number of people and did it in a very personal way. Thank you for the personal replies to my posts and for your helpful nature. Enjoy a well-deserved retirement!
 
Congrats Wayne. Hope you a wonderful retirement!!!! Thank you for all the information over the years and all you have done for this amazing fishery. I have had some of the best times of my life on this Lake fishing with my family and friends. Thanks again and take care!!!!!!!!

Tears of sadness, but more of joy, as I read your post and the replies here!

I can't begin to tell you what a profound impact you've had on Conner (Ballast Boy) and my lives, and most assuredly (as evidenced by the replies thus far) hundreds if not thousands of other lives as well.

You have done a truly outstanding job creating and maturing one of the most amazing world class fisheries on the planet, and no one will ever forget, or be able to replace, that legacy...

Enjoy your retirement, it is incredibly hard earned and well deserved!

Conner and I will see you on the 9th of July, not to say goodbye, but to catch up and help launch you into your next adventure!
 
Thanks, Wayne. we are all pretty fortunate to live where we do to enjoy powell. This website is amazing with lots information that allows folks to be successful with their pursuits while enjoying a sense of community with other members. Very well done.
 
Wow! I guess father time marches on, congrats on a job well done . Not only that, but an example of a man who has enhanced so many other folks enjoyment of the lake and fishery that became your life's work. Through your knowledge, passion, and selflessness, you have helped thousands . You also are one of those men that truly loves what he does, making many want to have what you have had. Congratulations Wayne, and thank you for all you have done at Lake Powell, this website and the books. You will be missed.

I too retired earlier this year, and speak from a little experience. It is the best decision, you will be busier then ever and wonder how you ever had time to work. Enjoy the time and make the most of a well deserved retirement. Thank you and have a blessed retirement.
 
Wow. Go offline for a few days and Wayne retires... Wayne, you have been the most incredible steward of LP anyone could have ever asked for. You have been able to live your dream and created a world class fishery for all of us to enjoy. I can’t even begin to imagine the early struggles to get things going. You are leaving behind a legacy and I feel really bad for the next guy in line lol. It hardly seems like enough, however...Thank you for your tireless efforts over the years.

Heading off into an exciting new life just as your beloved lake heads into an exciting new life as well. New adventures in your future, and the lake (along with its users) surely has new adventures as it ventures into the sub-3550 world. It will be a great ride all the way around, and the good will prevail in the end.
