Wayne , thanks for teaching me how to catch stripped Bass. It was at the south shad rally(how many years ago now?) Save the shad was what you told us. I have never caught so many fish in my life as I have at Lake Powell. I hope to see you again some day on the Lake. Congrads and enjoy your retirement,. Lake Powell is a special place for me as I know for many others. Not only the fishing but the many friends I have met there and still go fishing with.

Thanks for all you have done,.

Wayne--

Thanks so much for the vision, the time, the even-handedness, the knowledge, and the respect you generate in the name of a worthy cause and place. You will no doubt be missed by your colleagues, and by those you've touched or assisted beyond measure among the general public you come in contact with. But on this site of course we are lucky to have your continued presence...and It is much more than just appreciated....

You have done an amazing job of managing a complex fishery. The quality of the fishing at Lake Powell is without a doubt better due to your efforts. The quality of this website specific to a lake is also very unique. I remember reading your wayneswords paper reports found at the marinas and calling the number back in the 90's. Thank you and I hope you enjoy your retirement.

I cannot express how grateful I and so many others are for the work you have done in not only managing this magnificent resource, but also giving us the place and opportunity to communicate with others that love Lake Powell. I started boating and fishing "The Lake" in 1969 and following you ever since you started providing us with reports. Not once in all those years can ever remember you being negative about anything. You always put a positive spin on anything that had to do with "The Lake". Thank you so much. You are loved by so many!!

Great career Wayne ! You have blessed the lives of so many in so many different ways. What a Christ like example you have been. Are ya still serving as a Bishop ? Good luck with your retirement . You will love it !!

Wow! Coming home from Lake Powell to see what the water levels have done since I’ve been down enjoying the lake, and see this! Almost doesn’t seem real that I just walked in the door from an awesome weekend of fishing, knowing the hand you’ve had in that, and seeing the news. Thank you Wayne!!

Congratulations! You have earned it along with your lovely bride. Ditto to all the nice comments above, words can’t describe what you have accomplished and the lives you have touched. You have done a fantastic job on so many fronts. You will be missed.
Well done.

Wayne, thank you and your family for all you have shared and sacrificed to manage the lake fishery and encourage, support, educate and inspire generations of Word-lings! Your work has made a difference...and you have made a difference for our family...
Thank you, sincerely

Congratulations, Wayne! I just recently found this forum, and I’m sorry I haven’t been on here longer. You’ve done so much for LP, and this forum has been a HUGE resource. As a host, you have been very welcoming and helpful. I’ve looked forward to reading your weekly fishing reports these last few months, and our first HB trip has finally arrived Wednesday! Can’t wait!

Thanks for all you do, and I look forward to being a permanent contributor to this site. Enjoy your retirement! :D
