I missed that post about the ramp being closed. Stateline? When? We're headed up to launch at Stateline today. Any updates would be appreciated.
 
Ryan posted the NPS announcement in another recent thread “Incompetence . . .” You can easily find it by tapping What’s New. I just went down to NPS Glen Canyon on Home Page. I didn’t find the announcement or updates. Call NPS?

So I’ve been anticipating this and posting about it; that BOR was going to have none of abandoning all the infrastructure. That the last three million acer feet would not pass through the internal tunnels. That it would be held in reserve to keep infrastructure and recreation going more like we know it.

It’s related to the ramp because we can chase the water down easily to 3510 and the improvements to the Antelope public ramp are designed to take that ramp down to 3490 right on the sheer drop off of the channel at a cost of 100,000,000 dollars or more. That was the big clue that they weren’t going to let those last three million acer feet go as a one time delivery which would have ended up as a drop in the veritable bucket as lawful water deliveries go.

Meanwhile I’m dealing with the hazards on the ramp by not doing it and I have empathy for everyone who has to right now. My pontoon boat is floating behind my houseboat likely getting covered in moss and muscles. I store locally, don’t go anywhere else and have a local boaters tag but when they look as bad as I anticipate that it will you don’t get past the hut. They try and tell you that you need a professional decontamination which is an overreach in my opinion if I’m storing locally so I’ll just pull her out it the dark either AM or PM. (Unoccupied hut)

Delighted that from their plan we trudge on another two years but I suspect thats it’s the new permanent position that what flows in will flow out if or until the drought ends. They can manage that from above power pool easier than from below,

I hate to say I did but I told you so, just Say’n. BOR is not interested in killing off power generation or Lake Powell recreation as we know it.

As usual........a very rational analysis............ (y)

it's ALWAYS been $$. Nothing wrong with that....economics rules humanity. Always has. Economics rules your daily life.

As you said, power generation & recreation brings BIG $$ .........

so why was the biggest ($$) fuel station(.......our DR.............) in Utah allowed to close????

Something else a'goin on??

I wouldn’t disagree except slightly about the part that economies rule the world, my wife says wives do? She has all of my non boat-money cash reserves, there is your proof right there. What does she have that I don’t? That and she won’t jet me go to the lake by myself, shows who’s in charge right there. .

The boat/trailer were on the plates so was my Yukon, not sure how long the plates are. When you get to the rocks is when it’s sketchy. The box truck in the picture was on the plates and could not get going.

Did you mean our Lake Level?......was there a broader meaning? Decline of GDP, IQ scores, society in general, poor iconoclastic attempts at humor? 🥸;)

But speaking of declining Lake levels & Stateline.........Wikipedia says Planet of the Apes was filmed from late May-Aug 1967....database shows as low as 3502 in May......so they obviously could launch......using the old asphalt ramp, that was resurrected in 2023 @ 3519? Is that ramp just not feasible because of the size of the marina these days? :unsure:

I think they were using an old dirt road near gunsight for their movie launches, JFR posted photos of it here on WW. I gave up trying to be funny, everyone is just so sensitive these days. Thanks a lot Osama!
