Any bets on 50 ft water rise?

Just curious if any body thinks its going to go 50 or not? Maybe I'm bored, and just need to go fishing.
Have a good one all.
KyKevin.

Colorado lake's are at full capacity and Dams habe been opened to allow room for more run off. Last week the river had died down and dropped. Today driving along river it is back above the banks and smashing down stream!

Great picture of the Henry's, does anyone have one of mountains in Colorado? I don't think over 50' is out of the question.

50' is no problem, hoping for 60'+

Thank's for your information David, It's interesting to see how in the early 80's, how full Powell was. All the water we had in 1983, they put up the 8' gate, letting Powell rise to 3708.34, pretty cool for sure.
Was 1983 the most water ever to go into Powell, in one year? Just curious, Thank's again David Fordham, great info.
Have a good one.

Pretty sure 1984 had the biggest runoff. But they learned their lesson in 83' and drew the lake down enough to accommodate the huge influx of water without having to resort to plywood!!!

I was fishing willard bay yesterday. There is still a lot of snow up on the Wasatch range. This was looking from the northwest. I also know that Spirt lake is still frozen over. It is about 10000 ft. I am hopeful that there is still more to come. Maybe, I will be able to this fish Powell this entire winter.

Hey red neck. I'll bet you some wildcats tickets and a bucket of chicken you get your 50' but not 60'. I'm guessing around 3624. I like all of this water, but I miss going north to fish and I don't like to fish in muddy water. I'm also guessing it will be the 1st of August before the water clears up enough in GHB to fish. Have a good one

Wow, you are a high risk better, surely you don't think I'm one of those silly guy's, he was talking about, and thought you would win an easy bet on a silly Hillbilly, do you.

5468This photo was taken yesterday. There is still more snow up there then I have seen in quite a few years. The local newspapers are saying they are going to stop the trans mountain water diversions which should put another 800-900 cfs into the Colorado river.

With only 3.80' left to go to reach the 50' mark and making an assumption that Hagerman Pass is not the only hill with that kind of snowpack left, I'm still believing it is possible for me to be sunk in the water level contest. I'm not putting my snorkel away just yet. ;)

Blue Mesa, the Flaming gorge, and Navaho are all now above 90% full pool. I would love to see a 60’ rise this year. It is also nice to see California, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, and Arizona all drought free. Now if we could just get 40 days and 40 nights of rain. I might be able to use the Halls creek cutoff for once.

Have to look at the releases though FG, BM and Nav have stopped dumping water, they are just on normal release amounts now. There is still tons of snow though I bet it starts snowing again before all the usual spots melt this year. So hopefully jump start on next years snow pack!

At this point a 50’ rise is guaranteed. Shall we bet on 60’?
With how much snow is in the mountains, I'm still pushing for 60' but we are down to 6" rise per day now and that would take 20 days to get to that point if that stays steady. But, we are still seasonably cold here in Utah with an occasional warm up here and there. Only 53 degrees here this morning at only 4300 feet elevation in Hanksville. The warmer months are coming so it's going to be a nail biter for sure. I would be happy with a rise of 15.06' for this year. haha

It's been a fun discussion and tracking the lake level. We'll should surpass our 50 (3618.5) feet tomorrow (report on Thursday), and Flipper and the USBR may be close on the water year peak of about 3624.

From what I’m seeing up high and Blue Mesa having to amp up releases I think we will continue to rise throughout July. It won’t be as much but bring her up. Of course we have to wait to see if they increase the release from Powell also.
