When do you think the lake will reopen?

Meatwagon get ready for some great redear fishing. World record from here. LH
Yeah that sounds good. I wouldn't mind getting into some crappie too, but will probably spend most my time bass fishing. They say it's supposed to be one of the best lakes in the west.

AZ Gov Ducey has indicated he hopes to begin lessening restrictions after April 30. If that's the case I suspect (I hope) limited openings by May 15th on Powell. I have a houseboat reserved for May 24, so fingers crossed.

We will go up May 8th with the bass boat so anyone that wants to go to jail with us can meet us at the Antelope ramp early May 9th for some civil disobedience. We are tired of the trampling of freedom in this country and we still have a Constitution. I don't care what the Governor says and I don't care what the President says, we are charging the gates. Some things are worth fighting for. We are both over 70 and could care less about this hysteria over the flu.

If I show up to crash the gates with you, will you go to Washington to clean out
congess with me...?

I bet they open soon but if they don't people are going to become nasty. I was around in the late 60's and things can get crazy. I was beaten by 7 guys at the UofA and ended up in the hospital for three days with no upper teeth. Hippies were nuts and the blacks were ticked off because of George Wallace visiting. We will have huge civil unrest if they keep this up much longer. One of my delivery companies pays $20000 a month for rent and the owner thinks the bailout will not save his business. Tens of thousands of those stories.

I’m hoping may 1. I’m also hoping for a soft opening where fishermen over the age 55 and born in April get the first week
I've lied before about my age when I was asked if I was 21 and I would do it again if I was able to go fishing on the first day . I also am 55 and born in April. Just can't remember which day in April. Good enough?

We are making significant progress on the clinical front. COVID-19 PCR testing (tells you is you have the virus) will be expanded as test collection kits are now available. Testing will rise exponentially as we add serological monoclonal antibody testing (tells you if you have had the virus) by May 1st to determine prior exposure and possible immunity. I do believe that May 1st is a reasonable restart for a Lake Powell limited opening, to include open boat ramps, and houseboat rentals, but not the Lake Powell Resort or tourist boats, as I believe Social Distancing will remain in place with masks for the foreseeable future, as will bans on groups of 10 or more, as the economy restarts.

April 14, 2020 White House Briefing The president said plans to ease the national economic shutdown were being finalized, and that he would be "authorizing governors to reopen their states to reopen as they see fit." At the same time, Trump made clear that he was not going to put "any pressure" on governors to reopen.
