Spent last night in Aspen. Lots of snow on those high peaks.
On edit, forecasted precip percentages even higher. Those high inflow graphs are looking ever more likely!Wouldn't 60 feet be fun?! Lingering El Nino could bring more SW moisture. I noticed that Vail forecast has about 50% rain every day this week.
10-Day forecast is for wet and unseasonably cool weather through Memorial Day weekend....looks like river drainages are going to stay wet, and the snowpack is going to linger late this year. Ideal conditions to keep the Colorado River running high into mid-summer! The high snow has not even started to melt yet...Well, bless the NWS. Western storms now projected to hang on the west coast this week, so watershed getting little to no precip. At least it will be warmer to hasten the runoff. Hoping the CR Cut navigable by Memorial Day. Expected several more inches per day than the 5 or so this week.

I live in Edwards... just left Eagle and its been raining all night again. LOTS of snow and rain so far, and we still have another day or two of it. I spoke with a local ranger and he said the snowpack up top was still very deep. Should be a good consistent runoff well into July!I noticed that Vail forecast has about 50% rain every day this week.
It’s hugh. And snowed again last night in it’s drainageAn almost 80 foot rise? Is that normal?
I've been wondering about why the big releases from Blue the last few days. But seeing video yesterday of an incredible amount of snow up at the Animas Forks headwaters shot from a copter explained it. There are hundreds of square miles of high up snow that hasn't even begun to melt. It’s on the way
Temps this morning at some property we own 12 miles from the lake were low 20’s with another dusting of snow. Reminds my of smoking meat. Low and slowI've been wondering about why the big releases from Blue the last few days.
