My kid plows Vail pass. He tell me their closely watching a slide area that nobody sees. It’s considered a 100 year avalanche. On a scale of 1-5 it’s rated at 3 now. 3 more days of snow this week. I guess if it let’s go I-70 could be closed days trying to move snow to reopen it

We got clobbered in Summit County CO over the weekend. 2 avalanches hitting I70 in the same stretch on Saturday, I missed the second one with my family in the car by about an hour. Everyone has 10-15 foot piles at the end of the driveway, running out of snow storage room. Exhausted from shoveling and snow blowing it all!! I'm about ready for Spring.

I'm pretty sure the runoff will be epic this year. I remember doing Cataract Canyon in July of 2011 on 60,000cfs! The Colorado was so big, that the NPS closed the river to private trips. Fortunately, we were on a commercial trip, and had the trip of a lifetime. Good thing this winter is making up for last year's non-winter. And it's not over yet...
