To drive the point home: This is the first time that four backcountry zones have gone to EXTREME (5 of 5) Avalanche Danger since the ten-zone forecast format began. Historic avalanches are running. DO NOT travel in or near avalanche terrain. Avalanche Warnings are in place for the Front Range, Steamboat and Flat Tops, Vail and Summit County, Sawatch, Aspen, Gunnison, Grand Mesa, and San Juan Mountains. -From the CAIC
 
I'm pretty sure the runoff will be epic this year. I remember doing Cataract Canyon in July of 2011 on 60,000cfs! The Colorado was so big, that the NPS closed the river to private trips. Fortunately, we were on a commercial trip, and had the trip of a lifetime. Good thing this winter is making up for last year's non-winter. And it's not over yet...
