I had a duck actually jump up on my back deck a few years ago. Little weirdo was not afraid of people at all, had to shoo him away with a stick lol.View attachment 31279
So, these 2 ducks followed me around all day last spring after I threw them some crackers at one point. I use a trolling motor on my little canoe and they had no problem following me as I trolled around Wahweap bay. They even joined me at my campsite that evening

We once had an owner of our houseboat report that they found a duck egg had been laid in our kitchen because someone left the door open when they left the houseboat on the buoy
