We were down shooting a story last weekend on low water that should air in about 2 weeks. On Sunday as we were getting our AIS done, I ran down and shot some video of the work that was being done below the Bullfrog Main ramp. I was impressed that there was a dozer operator working there on Sunday. They have a ways to go. When we were in the boat, we took a few readings of the depth out by this new potential ramp and in some places, we got as much as 65-70 ft around what at one time was the island and now, I guess would be more of a peninsula. Good catch. Yeah, that should be 3525 on their response. I took a swim at the Executive/North Bullfrog ramp. I wanted to see how far the boiler plates went out, how deep the water was at the end. I'm 6'4" and I got up to my neck and was still standing on the boiler plate. I couldn't feel the end of it. I'm guessing I was close. I was concerned that I wasn't going to be able to launch my 28ft boat in a month or my buddy couldn't launch his 32ft cruiser. I think we'll be okay as long as the water is near the same elevation. I guess it will depend on the Flaming Gorge dump that is...

Quick update. When we arrived a week ago, the ramp was down to one lane and they had the second lane blocked off with a concrete barrier. This morning as we pulled out, they had moved the concrete barrier and both lanes were open.

The lane closest to the dock that had been previously barricaded. We watched a 20 foot boat retrieve with no issue. I’m assuming since they removed the barrier that they fixed the boiler plates in both places. When we launched there was definitely a noticeable gap in the boiler plates when we pulled out this morning we did not notice that.

Any idea if they put a boilerplate on the lane nearest to the dock? When I took a swim and felt around with my feet, I couldn't feel a plate in that lane a few weeks ago. I had asked the NPS if they were going to fix the gap between the boiler plate and the concrete in an email a week or so ago and they acted like they were not going to fix it. Sounds like they did! That's great news for Memorial Day weekend and for larger Cruisers trying to launch for now. Who knows what June is going to look like.
 
I don’t know for sure we were pulling out about 830 this morning so it was a little chilly to go wadding

I know when we launched we had a small problem so I had to wade out to the top of my thighs and I could feel that gap between the cement and the plates, we also felt the bump when we were launching the trailer.

Pulling out this we didn’t feel the bump; we stayed on that far right side again. Even though it was open we didn’t want to try the side closer to the dock. There was a 20 foot boat pull out at the same time on the other side without any issue.

I know this doesn't help anyone for today or tomorrow, but I'm going to try and make it down Saturday. Probably going to launch at twilight because I'm a one man show and I don't want to hold anyone up. I will attempt to get some pictures if it doesn't hold anyone up.
 
We hauled out a 20' Lund aluminum boat on May 10 when the water was about 20" lower and had no trouble on south side of the ramp. There's not much weight on the back of trailer until the stern of the boat comes in contact with the back of the bunks and it's not floating anymore.

I saw pictures today on FB showing two lanes for launching..at the north ramp !

Didn't get pics of the ramp yesterday. Left about 5:45am and wanted to get to the tapestry wall. Got back about noon and the ramp was hustling and bustling. Everyone was on the ball though and very patient with lone wolfs and any other issues. It was actually the most chill organized busy day at the ramp I've had. As I was pulling out, a gentleman launched a 260 or 280 Sundancer 'ish' (didn't want to stop and stare) rig with his wife, and everything looked fine. I would have no issue launching any type of day boat

Trying to make a decision on a trip in August. About the feasibility of a 26ft boat launch at bullfrog. I know what the website information says, but wondering if anyone has any specific knowledge. mid to late August levels are expect to be around 3517. Is the Boiler plate material extend that far? What does it look like for those levels? Thank you in advance for your tribal knowledge.
 
My opinion is launching at those predicted levels at the North ramp with a 26’ boat isn’t likely.

We all need to encourage NPS to make that primitive ramp usable before 3519’

We have a 23’ boat and I’m concerned we will be launching at Stateline and driving up for our September trip. That will add the better part of a day in each end of our trip but the alternative is canceling which isn’t appealing either.
