Bullfrog North Ramp

I don't know who is going to be willing to drive 200+ miles to find out. Hopefully Mary will fill us plumb full of good news 😜
I hate to report this but I have not seen the normal boat traffic for this time of year. Of course it's nothing like the summer and is always slower but I have seen 1 boat come by in the past week and it was before the "closed" date. Too bad that boat owner hasn't posted the launch conditions here.

The 2 problems are:
1. Not knowing if launching is possible.
2. Not knowing if you'll be allowed to launch if launching is possible.

Again, when I went down and took the pictures, 2 guys launched and said it was the best conditions they have seen in 1.5 months. Steep enough to launch pretty easily.

But yeah, Who want to make that drive just to get turned around and sent home?
Wish they had a more stuctured response instead of being so open ended and confusing.
I'll see if I can find anything out this morning.

Dave, today’s the day that we’re supposed to get our “Low Water Update” from the NPS. We will see. Sq

Is it written by the same people who said the Stanton Creek primitive launch ramp would be open to launching at your own risk?

I think that's a pretty fair question. :P

I watch his videos and he does some great rescues. Don't get me wrong, respect all the way.
BUT......
I am a one man shop with no "camera crew" and usually work twice as hard to get the job done.
Example?
I had a rescue in the bottom of a 450' long slope "sand bowl" where the individual drove down expecting to get out the other side. didnt happen.

Me, my gear, my winch and truck took 9 hours getting this truck out of this sand bowl. My wife actually called search and rescue because it took so long! It was 20x worse than any rescue I've seen Matt do on Youtube.

The customer even asked me, "what if you get stuck down here?" My reply? "We'll need resources neither of us can afford." 2 hours later, we were on dry pavement on Hwy 24 North of Hanksville

I don't have a camera crew. I don't have multiple trucks. That is why my fees beat any other company in the area. Don't under estimate the small guy.

Maybe, someday, I can be youtube famous when I can afford the camera crew. Until then, good old fashioned honest billing and service.

Happy New year everyone!
Remember Matt started with just an I-phone on Youtube.

I called the boat shop and she said she hasn't actually been to the boat ramp to check it herself out but Aramark was told there is absolutely no boat launching on the ramp but if you can find somewhere else to launch, it's at your own risk.

I tried calling the Park Rangers there at Bullfrog and the line acts like their phone is unplugged or turned off. There is no ring, no busy signal and when I call from the landline, the message that comes on says they are not answering their phone right now.

Maybe someone else can have better luck and chime in...... Their number is 435-684-7400.

Matt also lives in an area where there are possibilities for finding employees. Hanksville has about 200 people (Moab has 5300) which includes all the elderly, disabled, men, women, children and drug addicts. I love where I live but running a business and needing employees is a challenge.

I won't complain about where I am at all. I started out with an Android and a 20 year old Ford with 1.25 million miles on the odometer. Just really have no desire to be famous I guess. haha
