$6.06 for Ice - You've got to be kidding

Good chart, thanks for posting. When I bought my yeti most of these were new and/or unproven, and I think they have now shown to be good coolers. The Orion I use for my big cooler had good reviews in a recent test, not the best, but very good. What I really like about both is that they can take a beating and come out unscathed. No more cutting up webbing and replacing the hinges! And I never thought much of the bear certification thing but last year on the Smith river that was all that was allowed, and I had it covered. Again, many good coolers out there, some really pricey, some not as bad, up to what you like and what works for you.

Do I remember someone saying something about dry ice in Hanksville now? Tried searching but it keeps saying something is wrong.
Thanks.

I thought it was Hole in the Rock that said they had it, but don't hold me to it

I just saw some info about a company selling refrigerators and small freezers that run off DC & solar. I hope to check them out next week at the Denver Outdoor Retailer Convention. I’ll share what I learn. The flyer had a small unit pictured that’s perfect for my boat.

Thanks for the sportsman cooler link, goblin. We ordered and just received one of the 65 qt. Lost creek coolers. Looks like it should do the job as a designated ice cooler. They had a 85 qt on sale for 229 but missed it.

Engel is one of the first to do this. Others are coming out.

I saw these at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Denver this July. I'm putting this out for info only, I don't endorse any, but cool technology.

I would think if you have a houseboat or larger boat with room for the solar panels, you can have solar ice-chest / ice maker now.

I know there are other cheaper brands, just wanted to mention these.

Our partners have had one for 3 or 4 years. They swear it works better than the refrigerators on the houseboat. They use it for camping, Powell and long car trips
