Walleye fishing year round?

The notherns did away with the thousands of 12-14 inch perch that we used to pull out of there.

Yea it really changed the fishing there. Sure liked eating those two kinds fish and being so close to home.

Assuming walleye were never stocked in Powell. I always heard the walleye were flushed down the Colorado River from Rifle Gap Res. in Western Colorado. Long journey, but only lake that had walleye at the time. I'm surprised some yellow perch didn't make the trip.

I worked at the prison in Gunnison during that hey day! That lake was a TON of fun to fish back then. I live up in Saratoga Springs now.

Yuba was awesome, I thought about it when I read the post about Blue Mesa perch, but did'nt figure anyone would believe me about 1 1/2 perch, regularly caught at Yuba, in 50ft of water. I think the record there was over 2lb "RAY JOHNSON"

I had a ball there as a kid. My dad would take us ice fishing. We would get gunny sacks full of perch. They'd come up so fast from 50ft+, their air bladder was in their throat.

Also enjoy perch fishing at Devils Lake ND. 15 1/2" 2.3 lbs caught 2011.

Nice, I'd like to take a fillet knife to those bad boy's. That's how Yuba perch were, bout to bust at the seam's.
