Looking at the pike, walleye and smallmouth photos it looks like you were fishing a Canadian Shield lake. Where were those photos taken?
Yes sir . Lake of The Woods , Ontario. Given your propensity for bass fishing, I believe you would love lake of the woods. We fished out of Morson Ontario , and rented a house boat for a week with Ontario wilderness houseboats. The month of June is a smallmouth fisherman’s dream . We caught as many smallmouth as we wanted , many between 3-5 lbs . The trip was fairly affordable, and the walleye and pike fishing was also decent.Looking at the pike, walleye and smallmouth photos it looks like you were fishing a Canadian Shield lake. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Definitely 2 future fisherman there.
I went by Lake of the Woods many times as a kid. We went up to the Sioux Lookout area I think eight times. There was no road cutting up from Highway 11 to Dryden in those days so we had to go up the east side of Lake of the Woods. We had great smallmouth fishing on Big Vermilion Lake near Sioux Lookout. Big V also had Lake trout, pike and a few big muskies. We had to go to Lac Suel, Pelican and Minnetaki for walleyes. We actually flew to a small Lac Suel tributary loaded with walleyes. It was like fishing in hatchery there.Yes sir . Lake of The Woods , Ontario. Given your propensity for bass fishing, I believe you would love lake of the woods. That’s awesome man .. I have fished a lot near ear falls , peareault falls, and Dryden . No place I’d rather fish . And with the restriction and slot limits , the fisheries up there are better than ever. I love Ontario manI went by Lake of the Woods many times as a kid. Bat ray. I caught one while surf fishing in Mexico. Late 80s.
Are these good eating?
Not as good as a striper. Best fried in beef tallow. Upside is that there are no bones. Are these good eating?
