Gotcha. Thank you!Only went as far as Hansen. Mouth of Red never fails in April though. Trolled from Moki to Stanton twice. Only schools were by structure. Nothing on the walls which is my favorite

Haha! Yes the pressure is on Saturday….more than usual. If the pregnant lady has to sleep in the tent and didn’t catch enough striper to make her happy then I’ll be in trouble! If baiting her hook will get her back for a 2nd trip its worth it
And you all ways want to keep a woman expecting a baby happy![]()
Take me?Ah…I envisioned they were suspended along the canyon walls like I found them last April. We will search everywhere but will keep in mind that they are in shallower water in the main channel. Thank you!
Did you happen to go north? That’s our plan. Hopefully camp in forgotten and hit the areas around there and head up to GHB if we need to.
Supposed to be around 0 degrees the next few mornings...I love winter but am also sick of it! Next week looks great down there, but I have not been able to give the boat a going over to make sure everything is running. Even though it is in a shop, my property still has 3' of snow and it is tough to put muffs on your outboards when all the hoses are stowed away and it does not get above freezing!Trent if there is a stowaway in the back of your truck come Saturday morning just ignore him. He is just a long lost fisherman that is sick of winter haha. I was all set to go but my wife can't get any time off so I will have to rain check my trip unfortunately. Hope you knock the heck out of them.
As of this morning, it appears as though it will be quite a miracle if I get down there on time. The new snow in my driveway was thigh deep. 30+ vehicles off the road. Just a mess! I just don’t know if it will be cleaned up enough for me to latch onto the boat. That was some kind of storm!!Trent if there is a stowaway in the back of your truck come Saturday morning just ignore him. He is just a long lost fisherman that is sick of winter haha. I haven’t either. I’m hooking up, going, and giving my boat a once over at the ramp. Not at all how I would prefer it but if all else fails I unhook the boat, drive down Stanton, and shore fish.Supposed to be around 0 degrees the next few mornings...I love winter but am also sick of it! Thinking about sometime during the last 2 weeks of April, and hoping that Bullfrog does not get too muddy before then...
Good plan! I would do the same, but I put in a second fuel line to my new kicker motor, and think it would be wise to make sure everything works before heading out on Powell!!!I haven’t either. My plan too, Wont be surprised if its the 1st of June before we can get a test run at the Gorge. Woke up to my 1/4 mile long driveway thigh deep in snow this morning, on top of the mud and slush that was already there, its quite a mess. This country was not made for any wind that doesn't come out of the west! We were going to leave the 12th, but pushed it out till the 20th, hoping for the water to warm up a bit before the run-off completely blows GHB out. You guys head down through Vernal?I haven’t either. I’m hooking up, going, and giving my boat a once over at the ramp.
Thx I will scout our area for some!!Looks like dog food for bait!!!They are Chub minnow specie, and I get them in a big pond in Huntington. I like to throw a net for Shad, but they are illegal to transport and get to soft anyway. I use to bring them home before I knew it wasn't legal. You can get these at Wallmart for $17 , and they pay for there self in one good trip.View attachment 21821kipView attachment 21822View attachment 21823
I feel your pain…Yes usually over the top to vernal then duchesne over the top to price. But will go whatever way we can this time!My plan too, Wont be surprised if it’s the 1st of June before we can get a test run at the Gorge. Yep. A couple years ago I found them in anvil in March and never looked back lol.Well my boat is ready to go and tested but can't make the schedule work to make it down there. This storm completely missed us somehow we only got a skiff. Going to be a weird summer around here with the late spring. I am normally fishing koks on the gorge and fontenelle in April but I don't think there is a chance of that this year.
No smell in the freezer?I have been trapping my own minnows, and picking my own crawlers for 40 years, how time flys. Got close to 600 yesterday trapping. I put them in baggies, take all the air out and stack them 5 high. Then rap them on freezer paper and they will last for 2+ years.View attachment 21799
I'm a hillbilly, of course I have smell from minnow's in my freezerNo smell in the freezer?

If you never eat fried squirrel and home made buttermilk biscuits and gravy, you missed out. But those that eat the brains, can have them![]()
You're way too tough to consider putting in the freezer.Watch it there buddy. Sq
Do you ever take this trap with you to Powell to have fresh bait for the next day's fishing? I was just going through the Utah fishing brochure and it seems to me like that would be legal as long as they are dead, right? I would think fresh caught would last for a couple days on ice without getting mushy, or am I wrong on that? Might be a nice alternative to those frozen anchovies if they become scarce in the stores. They are Chub minnow specie, and I get them in a big pond in Huntington.
