Wow - all so evocative of why we love Lake Powell. Has anyone managed to get a good picture of what I call "The Circle of Stars"? That's when you stand on the back of your boat on a clear, still, dark night in the middle of a circle of stars. It's so magical. PowellBride has a great night picture with the moon walking on the water - better than anything I've gotten.

Not sure this is exactly what you’re referring to. But I found a couple night sky pictures we’ve taken.

This one is in Good Hope, looking south, Ticaboo is to the bottom right of the photo.

This one from 2012, either in Farley or Scorup (I’d bet Farley), I can’t quite remember.

Also a couple more reflection ones. My favorite feature, Castle Butte.

Beautiful! What I mean by the circle of stars is seeing the stars above you all reflected in the water. So if you are standing on the back of a boat, you see stars everywhere - a circle of stars all around you.

No circle of stars, but here are some reflection photos. My first photo was shot looking west, inside Neanderthal cove, just beyond West Canyon (a few hours after the biggest sand storm I've ever lived through). My second shot was relaxing in huge Piute Bay when it was absolutely still. The third shot is looking outside the radius of about the third curve into the San Juan. I'm not certain about the fourth photo, but it may be deep inside Ansazi Canyon. Lake Powell is a photographer's paradisel
