LOL. I'll let it go after this, but I think it is funny that you're not sure why I'm arguing about your experience, but you are willing to argue with me about my experience.
The SeaDek I had on my old boats platform held up to everything, including water sports, coolers and 90 pound dogs. The GatorStep has held up as well. I honestly can't imagine it tearing. We are averaging 125 hours per year on our Malibu, and while I take care of it, we don't baby it. I have GatorStep on the swim platform as well as the top deck of the boat, and it still looks new.
Is this the stuff you are talking about? Engineered Marine Carpet Boat Carpet Marine Flooring Decks Docks
Because that is what is on the floor of my Malibu and I don't like it. It's rough on your feet. Hurts your knees when kneeling. Holds water under the flooring, above the fiberglas floor, and has to be taken out to dry out. It gets ridiculously hot, and the snaps have pulled out of it from our 75 quart Yeti that lives in the boat.
If/when I replace the Deckadance in the Malibu, it will be with GatorStep.
No reason for the OP not to see both sides of this conversation. I am happy with SeaDek/GatorStep, and absolutely recommend it. Sounds like you feel the same way about your product. To each their own.....
I agree other than the fact you are replying to my comments directly, rather than just posting your comments on the main thread.
Here is a real-world example of what I'm talking about with the SeaDek being more easily damaged than high quality sea weave carpets:
I just went outside and did this with my bare finger nail. It's original SeaDek, always under cover and 3 years old. I also included a photo of the Marine vinyl seagrass carpets we have inside.
