One Sept a good number of years ago...20 or so... I picked my brother up from Bullfrog after he flew his airplane into there. Took him to the San Juan and after a few days we migrated to Oak Canyon. We met the Bullfrog tour boat in Rainbow Bridge and he took it back to Bullfrog so he could go home to Montana. During those years there was a tour boat that did the main channel, Escalante and Rainbow. I've never seen on in the SJ. Chuck

I am only at Powell in the winter. I am sure the power squad will be whining about those wakes disrupting their wakeboarding. Are they worse than the ferry? Maybe they could have a tours in Halls occasionally. 😎

That next summer tour boats will depart BULLFROG to Rainbow Bridge! Just when you northenders thought you were safe from those tidal waves!!

DOH!!!!

Tiff

OH! Say it isn't so! I can't imagine anything worse. The only way I can see it having enough traffic is an all day Page to Bullfrog and back. Hard to believe you could get enough tourists starting on the north end.

About 15 years ago, when I was working for the stateline houseboat fleet, (aramark) I was given a lake run to repair a houseboat. Our chase boat was good for about 62 mph and I was doing all of that. In the distance I saw the tour boat and then noticed a gofast boat on my right going about 70. We were just across from the entrance to Friendship on the main channel. I could not believe my eyes but the fool was heading for the tour boat and some idiot was sitting on the top of the rear seat with his feet on the seat cushion. I watched as the boat launched off the wake. Luckily the guy in the back had sat down. The boat shot straight up and almost did a blowover but came back down stern first. I went over to see if they were ok and the guy on the back seat was waving his cowboy hat around and yeehawin. The driver was not so happy cause I know he realized how close he came to killing everyone. Spooky stuff. Lots of injuries from the tour boats, I'm sure.
