If you win hot wheels you will have to learn how to catch SMB with all the fishing gear. No more striper boils HA HA HA

Yes , Papa Jack was big on catching SMB. He showed me how too catch them too on one our trips to the SJ. But of course I could not pass up throwing my top water to the Striper boils while Papa Jack was fishing for the SMB :)

Papa Jack and I had fished the SJ several times together, one year with Pete K. That trip it was all SMB.. When this picture was taken, I did not know it was Papa Jack's last trip the SJ and my last time getting to fish with him. RIP PJ. Hotwheels.

What great memories of all 3 of my favorite long standing members of WWs. Thanks Hotwheels for the pictures and your insight. It is much appreciated. I will post a picture of an historical event when I get home to my photo library this evening.

Oh forgot to tell you about the T-shirts. Papa Jack had those made up special in CA for us all. He gave them too us once we got to the San Juan in the houseboat as a surprise. Tim and I really enjoyed his humor and wore them T-shirts with pride. :) Made for a good picture.

Waterman, on the LP Water Database it says “Lake Powell is up 5.03’ over these measurements” What does that mean and how will that affect the high water contest results? Sq

I believe that is the total rise in the measurements that you can see on the page, so over the past 10 measurements it has risen 5.03". Someone will correct me if I am wrong I am sure.

That was the picture I was looking for. Papa Jack even stopped fishing for SMB so Tim could fish that big boil you were in. Missing the great Papa Jack. RIP

I am heading to by a waterproof laptop so the contest can continue. I might be swimming tomorrow with the projected release of 10,000cfs all day today.

Get ready Wayne, I'm heading to Davy Jones Locker to join you.

Having lived here in Page for over 13 years and started coming here 40 years ago, we were driving to and from Greenehaven yesterday and we noticed all of a sudden how full the lake looks now. Its been a while I guess since I really looked at it that way. It would be nice some day to see the weeds flooded way out west past Lone Rock but right now it looks cool. Still a little short of the over flow channels next to the dam though.

Hopefully some day some the lake will be full again.

Updated the water level, had 1 take the plunge with lake level rise of 0.20.

Get ready hotwheels, you and I are going for a swim. Tugboat grab your life jacket, you might be joining use for a triple splash.
