I hope somebody make's them. I don't use them any more but for the people that do :) I like my Walleye assassin's better with a single hook, not saying you can't change out the treble, but I have yet to find anything that out fish the Assassin's.
 
after looking at them do it molds sells a mold that looks identical for 50 bucks may just do that like i need 100 more lures

yup do it mold for slabs, some lead and your in business, slab spoons are nothing special...... better be allot of already made lures for $7000
 
Not to throw cold water on the venture, but I know a guy that made very similar spoons with the same technique and sold quite a few of them and other tackle back in the 80's, it's a standard mold that is out there. He made and sold them for Stripers as well as Kokanee at the Gorge. I'm pretty sure no patent is on them so anyone could make them. This same guy has molds, production lead pots, mfg. equipment already and is set up as a mfg. business with a few workers. He is getting back into the Tackle manufacturing business with tubes, plastics, spoons, lead heads, anchors downrigger weights and more as well as other items.
I would not be surprised if he is working on similar spoons again, already...
As far as the comment of getting things into Sportsmans Warehouse, not saying it can't be done, but it is not like the old days.
If you don't have millions in liability insurance, EPA compliance, (Prop 65) especially when dealing with lead it's a tough go.
I would be cautious investing a lot into any "blue sky", and if buying the supplies and equipment as a hobby business to have some fun and make a little money have fun!!
Also, just curious how much did the spoons cost at retail if anyone knows? What would people be willing to pay for them?

I checked in with the tackle guy I mentioned in earlier post. He is actually in the process right now of making some spoons and large center balanced jig heads that he has requests for Macs at the Gorge. He is familiar with the spoons, has made them in the past and sold them to local marinas, tackle stores and even SW many years ago.
If there are any special color requests or favorites, he said he is capable of making most anything, he would just need to know if there is enough demand to scale up to make a bunch of them. He can do smaller custom runs, but the more he can produce the lower the price he can sell them for. Any ideas on how much the Mylar covered style sold for and or the glitter or painted ones??
If anyone knows how much they paid for them or what they sold for, that would be good info to know?

He said he has molds for 1/2 oz thru 2 oz what were most popular sizes, he thought back in the day the 1 oz was his best seller
with 3/4 and 1 1/2 being good as well?
