This picture was when I got back to camp which was closer to Bullfrog in one of the little cuts just off the main channel as Dungee said.
Here is a picture of where I was actually catching them.
Iceberg, Slick Rock, Escalante, Ticaboo, Scorup (and most canyons north towards Trachyte) have similar groves of old cottonwood trees or new growth trees and brush. Target the small new growth instead of the old big stumps.
I also have had more luck on crappies on sunken tumbleweeds and sticks than those big old snags. I have stumbled on them, they are not as obvious. Seems the fish prefer areas right up near the bank that have steep, rocky shores that drop off pretty quickly. From what I have seen, pretty much EVERY boat stops and throws a line in those dead trees.....
