LP MARINAS ELECTRICAL INSPECTION REPORT

Now I did it. I received a call from Brandon the Public Information Officer for GCNRA. I spoke to him about the report and the ridiculous idea that they will keep people from swimming in the marina. I also gave him information on the shockalarm and docklifeguard systems that are found on a different post. At least the two people I have talked to thus far have a good attitude and genuinely seem to want to get the information.

I appreciate the information. I must say, I am a little shocked (see what I did there :) ) that he wouldn't know about the no swimming in the marina. NPS is the one that has been enforcing it.

He knows about the no swimming. It is, however, very hard to police and enforce it without a presence. How often do you see the rangers out after 6PM?

They seem to walk the docks every night before dark at Bullfrog.

I think it is a terrible rule by the way....

You have been much more effective in getting information from NPS than I have, good work.

It sounds like Antelope Point Marina acted quickly and effectively to address the safety hazards. Aramark?

Ask I asked in a previous response, has anyone seen repairs being made on Aramark marinas?

I was down to Wahweap this weekend. I picked up a printed flyer at Exec Services. Included in that flyer was the announcement of a "Cord Audit". Apparently Aramark will be inspecting the power coupling cords that connect shore power to your houseboat. They will notify those that have need of a replacement cord.

Good for them/us.

I don't know about that, they almost killed a few electricians last month when they shut breakers down for a safe to work area and found out it was back feeding through the system. they just got a new lead electrician and the kid "knows his s**t", he saved those men in my opinion.. they should be good by the time the season starts, he is a sharp kid.

Hopefully they can keep him.

I have been informed by NPS that they have given Aramark until "... the end of calendar year 2017..." to make the electrical repairs . It sounds like NPS is more concerned about it's relationship with Aramark than the safety of the public.

If you are concerned contact: Sue Mesica , Regional Director, Intermountain Region NPS. 303-969-2500.
