We caught a 6 1/2 lb channel night fishing outside of Hall's on Saturday night but no picture. Will remember that for the future. Is there a certified scale on the Bullfrog end of the lake? The current Lake Record Catfish (24 pounds) was caught in the Colorado River - Not Lake Powell. If you have captured a large catfish (5 pounds or better) please enter a picture and the weight from a certified scale in this thread. I will update the lake record information as the posts come in. If you catch a big catfish in the future near Wahweap, I have a certified scale at my office near Stateline Ramp and the Boat Service Center. Call Wayne at 928 645 2392.

Maybe that 20+Bob decided to release the lake record catfish after it was weighed. So the 18.85 pound cat still swims in Wahweap Bay. I wonder what it will weigh the next time I put it on the scale?

I suspect there are some cats downstream but the water is cold and not the best for catching catfish. Does anyone else have any experience fishing in the river for catfish? Is there any kind of catfish population below the dam?
Thanks!
