Here is my 12 yr old Gdaughter - in Knowles a coupleweeks ago. Caught 4 cats in less than a half hour (about 6 pm) all 3+ lbs. This was the first - 4lb12oz!! Happy girl and YUUUUMMMM!!! (hope the pic View attachment 9126posts!!)
Picture posted. Nice fish! The girl holding the fish seems a bit concerned that the big catfish is going to wiggle. That's OK I Know how she feels. Good Job catching the fish!

The current Lake Record Catfish (24 pounds) was caught in the Colorado River - Not Lake Powell. If you have captured a large catfish (5 pounds or better) please enter a picture and the weight from a certified scale in this thread. I will update the lake record information as the posts come in. If you catch a big catfish in the future near Wahweap, I have a certified scale at my office near Stateline Ramp and the Boat Service Center. Call Wayne at 928 645 2392.
We caught a 6 1/2 lb channel night fishing outside of Hall's on Saturday night but no picture. Will remember that for the future. Is there a certified scale on the Bullfrog end of the lake?

I know a guy who caught a 15 pounder in the San Juan!

The Lake record Channel Catfish has been broken again. Bruce Fenton's cat was 3 inches longer than Bob Chubb's catch on February 15, 2020. The difference was a huge stomach. Bob's catfish is the new lake record fish. It was weighed on the same scale by the same person (me). The new record weight is 18.85 pounds

Congratulations to Bob Chubb:
