Lake Mojave

Yea that's crappy (not) we spent lot's of time at Mohave, camped on that same beach, nice winter lake.,one fun thing about Mohave is going north to the river,(Willow beach) ,it is all quite beautiful.Fishing was fair. Unfortunately we picked up a lot of trash every time we went, that got old.We even cut a sign out of steel for one beach (west shore) that said NO ****TING (that was a problem there, and it was'nt just poop, there were plenty of discarded tampons ) it was gone the next season,2006-7. May have to go back if they don't give us more ramp at LP

Has anybody wondered why most of the trophy class fish caught in Lake Powell were taken over 20 years ago. Why has no one caught a striper as big as the 48 lb 11 oz Utah State record caught in 1991? Why has no one ever caught a Walleye bigger than the 11 pounder caught in 2019. With as many walleye as there is in Powell I'm puzzled that no one has caught a bigger one. Largemouth Bass state record 10 lb set in 1974 in Lake Powell.
Smallmouth Bass 6 lbs
Crappie. 3.5 lbs. 2009

I think the up and down cycles of shad in Powell obviously help limit the size of most fish. Maybe the state can supplement the shad population with some hatchery raised shad instead of planting sooooo many rainbow trout.
Thoughts??
Larry
