Keep DSC equipped VHF radios turned on 24/7

If memory serves me correct when I moved to AZ 30 yrs ago and brought my skeeter from Illinois the hull id # stayed the same but I had AZ conservation sticker applied to it. I recall looking at other boats to see if they were transferred from other states. There not like vanity license plates on vehicles.
 
Headed out to Lake Powell Halls Crossing up to Good Hope Bay will be there May 8-10. Would love to see if my Standard Horizon Explorer Series GX1600/1700 VHF w/DSC radio is working. Will keep tuned to Channel 16 but interested if anyone else has tried the DSC Group MMSI 022 222 222 or channel 68 on that end of the lake (mostly north).
