I'm confused?

I feel like the problem isn't with utah it's with states not working together. I feel utah has a decent system going on even if I cut the tag they run hull numbers befor you can enter... I also like being able to launch and trailer when I want to can you imagine how bad it would suck if all the ramps at powell close and you can't get off or on the water till open hours...
 
What was said above is my aggravation with it all. Make it easy for us to follow the rules put in place. I pay the money for all these different states to fund their programs, just like you all do. The difficulty in finding a place to follow through with the state’s own laws is mind blowing.
 
Yes I agree. I almost feel as boaters we need to pressure them to get on the ball with us... last thing I want is to spread this so I always do my part. I know alot of the workers are pretty much summer help to the parks and they act like they don't care... I've been turned around at sand hollow because it wasn't "Decon hours" so on my way home I looked up the hours on there website to find they lied so I turned back around showed them the website and they told me someone would meet me over there... its not what I want to do but I'm gonna do what I have to to keep this at powell

Hoping to go up Saturday, sounds like that is going to be the first day they will have decontamination available. Being the first weekend the boat launch is open I’m guessing they might be pretty busy. I’m was hoping to get a seal before then so I could get on the water at day break. They actually do a good job at Blue Mesa. It will work out one way or another. I know this isn’t really relevant to Powell s program, just wish I had had an opportunity to decon there. Looking forward to getting back to Powell as soon as we can, so I’m going to have to get use to going back and forth.

I see dude at port every Friday and Monday assuming he’s there on weekends also. He’s all set up with decon station haven’t seen any boats as I go through but ground is wet so he’s been working

My thinking is every boat that's leaving LP should be decon'd they have all the equipment times 10 that is the source of the problem. If your leaving from BF call these guys let them know ahead of time 435-210-6673 they're in Hanksville. The south end I'd call the number squirrel posted above if there's away to take care of you he'll get it done. Just me thinking again it's easier for these kids to put a seal on than decon a boat? Will Oregon or Idaho recognize the Decon done in Utah? I also went to Highline today to ask about decons. The gal in the office said neighboring states don’t recognize the Colorado decon.

It would not matter if they did a full decon at Powell for you either way. If you boat outside Colorado you must fully decon "IN" Colorado prior to launching your boat period. Does not matter if you were completely processed in Utah or Florida for that matter and does not matter how long your boat has been sitting.
 
I also received my sticker in a short amount of time. I believe I received it on Monday after taking the test about 9 days before…about 5 business days in there.

I’m with you. It makes way more sense to stop it at the source!!!!

The reason other states don’t honor the Utah seal, is that they know the boat was really not Deconned. If they actually did a full Decon on every boat leaving the lake, it wouldn’t be such a pain in the *** for everyone.

It would show people that they were serious about the problem if every boat leaving got decon so what if you have to do again when you get back home, I'm sure if I was at LP 3 days ago and got a seal I could cut it off go to at least 5 different state parks or reservoirs in the area I live and would never get checked or see anyone that would document anything. Really surprised this hasn't happened yet one bad guy and the rest won't even know they're helping then you have half a dozen places contaminated before it's even known.

I'm kinda curious how many times the water ways are tested in each state anyone know? Hope everyone stays honest is I guess all we can do.

Careful what you wish for. If they required decontaminated of every boat prior to leaving you could literally be waiting for hours to leave. Plus that would force the ramps to be closed when the decontamination station wasn’t opened. No thanks.

Oh that's a easy fix I worked 33 years doing shift work in mining. Have 2 shifts or go around the clock if needed.The cost would be pennies compared to the millions of damage they cause. I'm thinking when they do spread from LP there will be so many hoops to go through every where you go plus the fees,taxes owning a boat or just drowning a worm will be a lot different can't imagine the pain of fishing out of state if it's still even possible? I would rather contain it until some day they figure out a way to get rid of them?
 
How could we ever expect a fully functional 24/7 365 Decon station, when they can’t keep market buoys in the right spot, floating toilets cleaned, restaurants opened, check in gates staffed, etc…I know those are NPS and Aramark jobs, but I can’t imagine the state of Utah is gonna be any better with respect to staffing an operation like that (at least at Bullfrog and Halls).

that is how Blue Mesa is ran, you miss the gate closing and your stuck!
