TR,
Is your boat supercharged? Otherwise, octane requirement go down with altitude and temperature. a boat that needs 91 at sea level only needs 87 at Powell.

That would nice, I'll find out tomorrow. I'll be down on the San Juan for 10 days starting tomorrow. Maroon/white reinell with maroon Bimini. Feel free to say hi.

TR
Please keep me posted on water conditions and debris. Thanks.

I was at the HC pump out Monday.
A NPS guy said there was a 1000 gallon gas spill.
Said the fuel dock would be closed for the season...
A yellow containment boom surrounded the fuel dock,
No evidence of the leaked fuel...

I always look for waving and to see if the engine hatch is up. Years ago, (1983) we came upon a small cruiser tied to the San Jaun River Arm marking buoy. The husband said he heard a knocking sound and then he lost oil pressure. A quick look in the bilge showed engine oil confirming a broke connecting rod (put a hole in the pan).
We towed them behind the houseboat back to Bullfrog.

That reminds me of one of our earlier trips in the 80s. We were camped near SlickRock and it was getting toward sunset and we were in for the evening. Heard a boat hailing for a tow to Bullfrog from the main channel for qquite awhile. As it got darker we determined they were near by, so we offered to tow them to our houseboat for the evening and we'd tow them with the houseboat the next day.

Out of choices they accepted and we asked them to join is for dinner. Back in those days we had "theme" nights and the theme was "French". They wer servered dinner. By a tall young man in a speedo (yes the skimpy one) and a white tux, shirtless of course. Bet they never forgot that dinner!

We also did a lot of "theme" night dinners.
Incredibly fun...sure do miss that.
Our Star Trek night was unforgettable...mostly due to the costumes.
One had an original WW-1 gas mask complete with hose which connected to nothing. We ate a lot of beans that night....too bad there was no canister to connect the hose to.

I'm heading up to AP in a few days. Probably dropping the price for Cropduster again.

That was a long tow, but thanks for assisting him.

That is bad news if this is the case. Both environmentally and convenience wise.

My boat needs 91.
