Fun Quick Trip North

Regarding parking on the dirt, when I visited in early April the NPS had blocked off the last quarter mile or so before the rental docks at Bullfrog. One of the staff indicated that NPS was concerned about vehicles parked there leaking oil that would get in the lake when the water rose. I can understand that concern, but what about any oil leaks from vehicles higher up on the lake bottom, in the parking lots, anywhere in the Upper Colorado River drainage basin, and so forth? It might be a question of how long the oil will have to degrade before the water comes up to that level.

Great job Preston and crew. I'll be back down this weekend and will try my hardest to give an update on the parking situation at the ramp. I did the executive ramp stuff last time and after a 6.5 mile walk, I noticed the trucks parked at the main ramp in the dirt. So this time I plan on pulling down like I own the place. I'll see if there's any clear signage or anybody to talk to to get an answer.
