The very best I’ve seen is “Northern Anglers Taxidermy”. Rich has been on my short list of people to get ahold of if ever I needed a replica done. I actually did contact him about a lake trout replica and he was very upfront with me, as a form didn’t exist for it and for him to sculpt a form, and the time it would take would be a ridiculous amount of money. I really appreciated the honesty.Anyone happen to have a good recommendation for the mount / replica?

He has done some mounts for buddies of mine and they look flawless. Look around his website. Or Facebook page at the same name.
Of course there are cheaper options…

That's awesome!!! Would love to see those pics if you ever locate them.About 1992 or so we were fishing in one of the side canyons near the back of Last Chance. We came upon a fish about the same size as this one that was floating on the surface. It was not long dead as the gills were still bright red and the skin had not started to bleach out. We brought it in the boat. We had no measuring tape of scales but a guy 5'9" held it up the lower lip and when he got it to his chin there was still 3 or 4" of the tail on the floor. We took several pictures but I cannot find them so you're just gonna have to believe me. I did not know Wayne at that time or I'd have gotten the fish to him for his inspection. Chuck

Mine swims for hours continuously without rest, so long as there are fish or ducks to chase. He'll sit in the swim step and wait for jumpers. When you get on a boil in the summer time you can't keep him in the boat. Just have to land fish around him. He's only gotten hooked once so far and definitely did not learn his lesson. He even junped in on the big guy as it came to the boat! He's just standing on the foil I have on the motor on this one.Never knew dachshunds were bred as fish retrievers. New AKC designation?
Not much for webbed feet, must use their tails for propulsion.
Trolling plate or dive platform?
This is the best type of fishing dog! My Drathaars and Munsterlanders get way too excited by fishing and catching. Which is funny because they are well trained and obedient...but lose their minds when the fishing rods come out!My lab wasn't much for fish. Birds and waterskis.
Well, dead fish he was fond of.
I caught a 34-1/2" and it only weighed 7 lbs. This was the 1st of May. Stomach was totally empty, you could push its belly clear to the back bone it was so empty. This is based on striper caught in Rhode Island/New England area but gives a good idea of size to expect, as well as age!
