If you still have it in your cooler, ask where Dan kellers (the new fisheries biologist) office is at Wahweap and get her weight. I believe Wayne's office was at the end of the parking lot at the Wahweap ramp.
I tried to revive the fish, but it didn't have anything left after the 15-20min fight. I was still uplake on my cruiser for a few more days, so I took a ton of measurements with pictures before releasing it into a bunch of ziplock bags. Not sure if that still counts for catch and release record.
 
If you put the pieces back together like a Frankenfish then they can still weigh it, even without the innards it might still be a record? Oh, darn it, of course it's probably filets by now... Duh... :)
 
Dang nice fish! I am sure you were freaking out when you saw that thing near the boat. Lake Powell is known for its numbers of smaller stripers, not for producing big fish. It is good to know that the potential to hook into a trophy does exist though!!
