And she is a 'Beaut'.....this angle, with this lighting you've so nicely captured has always been a fav....
I like a rising lake when I have seen what the bottom is before it goes under. Any level for me but that facet is key to knowing structure and not having to use sonar to hunt. There are times I get sucked into old spots when the water was higher because it was so productive but the new bottom doesn’t have the same structure and I scratch my head for awhile With little or no fish. Or you got there a half hour before me and cleaned them outI agree, it is a wonder at all levels. I have boated over it and gone way back as well and you do get a totally different impression of the cathedral. There are many canyons with high walls but not many spots as jaw dropping as when you come around the corner and see this spot in my opinion. I know I will get lots of comments about other locations that are just as awesome but this one has always been one of my favorites. There are so many unbelievable locations on Lake Powell and that is what makes it so special to so many. I am so thankful for the lake which gives us older people access to these locations, at my age I would never be able to get to them without the lake for access.
I think you have that backwards @TR , I have followed you and gotten skunked, you have given me lessons and directions more than once to some darn good fishing!I like a rising lake when I have seen what the bottom is before it goes under. That's a long haul! I tried to ski from Good Hope to Knowles one time and didn't even come close. I think I made it half way to Seven Mile. I was amazed when I got home to find that someone had skied from Bullfrog to Wahweap to Hite and back to Bullfrog, including the Escalante and San Juan arms, (with a short break due to a fuel issue). Skier makes splash with 12-hour rideGood catch. I had my hot jet boat by then and wore a vest as we were towing way too fast. That boat never made it to Powell, so this was behind my friends' 19 Mark Twain. No recollection on our no fear, no compliance profile with them. Far afield from picture thread, this may be the trip when my buddy's wife skied fron bouy line at Wahweap to mouth of Forbidding Canyon (Rainbow Bridge), legendary!
