Not only would surfing out of a narrow side canyon be dangerous to the surfer, but to any person who happened to be fishing or enjoying the peace in such places. It would be the height of stupid to put the surfer and the wake maker at risk and the height of thoughtless and reckless behavior nearing the criminal to do it. It is bad enough having PWC's ripping in and out. The lake only works if everyone puts another users safety ahead of their own selfish wants. I see a lot of that on the lake and also lots of injury and accident. There are an untold number of swamps of small boats, canoes and kayaks that don't go reported but that ruin a persons whole vacation due to thoughtless acts of speed and daring do by big horsepower and beer. So, that said, I love the pix posted on this particular thread. They may be as close as I'll get to the lake this year.
Yes to all of the above, But wouldn't it make a cool video. Or maybe stupid the way you see it.. So many precautions would have to be undertaken to minimize risk and of course keep others from being exposed as well. There is a reason it has not been done. But again I say, what a video that would make. Not only would surfing out of a narrow side canyon be dangerous to the surfer, but to any person who happened to be fishing or enjoying the peace in such places. Way to head them off at the pass LOlThis was my niece's Senior Picture. We took a bunch of photos, but this one was our favorite. I don't think you can beat Lake Powell for scenery. And yes I know you are required to wear a PFD.
