Coolers - I need a new one.

...but guess what? I'll never have to buy another cooler the rest of my life, yes life! So in the long run you're actually saving money.

I think this is something many people miss. Up front cost may be prohibitive for many. For me, it isn't about how many days they keep ice. It's how many coolers do I have to buy in the next 10 years? 20 years? How much money are you willing to spend on coolers in the long run?

Like I mentioned before, I was given some inheritance money. I chose to buy a cooler that I know will last a long time with that money. Had I not been given that money, I may have never purchased the Yeti cooler. I'm glad I made that investment.

Would I do it again? Well....I purchased an Rtic for my wife for Christmas. I think it's great too! But it sure makes me smile when people look and say: "you sure have a big Yeti!"

:)

Igloo Ultra has worked for me over the years, the reason I did not upgrade was size, the igloo fit in the boat perfectly and the other brands were too wide.

I also have a big Yeti I take elk hunting in grizzly country (and to Lake Powell of course), but they are ridiculously expensive. I have heard great things about RTIC coolers, basically a Yeti for 1/2-2/3 the price.....

I am a Yeti guy as well. Yes they cost way too much. Do they hold ice better than others? I think so but I think there are comparable ones out there. Can my 250 lb friends stand on the others all day as a casting platform with no ill effects year after year...not unless you buy one of the comparably priced coolers. I'll admit I know nothing about rtic coolers. I have said it before and I'll say it again: 10 lbs of dry ice, frozen food and 2 yeti freezer blocks and I have frozen meat on day 5 in 95+ heat, standing on it all day. No ice to ruin the food. I think there are a lot of really good coolers these days, and I have gotten very good at fixing many of them over the years, just look in my back yard (much to my wifes' dismay). Nothing has held up like Yeti in my opinion, and as Preston said, it only hurts the day you buy it ;)
