Colorado river flow

So I assume that we will never see 3700 again unless we get so much rain the lake will be in flood control. What is the new elevation that LP should (or would) be considered FULL?

3675?
3660?

Wayne mentioned it in his book, but I cant remember what it was on the top of my head, I want to say it was either 3640 or 50.

With balancing of Lake Mead in the equation and it being at 30-something percent, I suspect you're right and we won't see Powell at much over 3650 for a long time. The Vegas golf courses really need that water.

Three good winters in a row would do it. We had one in 2010 but then two terrible ones after that.

Texas lake levels show conservation levels, which are below the max to the top of spill ways, so maybe the USBR has a full target at some lower elevation. I doubt that USBR will ever let L.P. get to 3700 feet again, wanting a margin for that 100 year rain like 1983. I think the 8 foot extension above the 3700 foot emergency spillway is still there, so maybe it could happen. We parked the boats below Stevens Arch and hiked Coyote Gulch in 83, it was great!

I camped at Hite in October of last year .

I took some pics of the primitive launch area in hopes that they would come in handy if the water ever rose back up and it would be good to know where any obstacles are around that dock.

I am hoping that these help some daring fishermen very soon!

looking towards main road

So pretty clean right there , assuming they don't move the dock ... no major whales

Some were the first to the middle of June the dock should be floating with the current water level and inflow. Still wish they would move the Hite web cam so we could see the water level.

We launched there last July, water level was 3620.5

Actually they use re-cycled water and so do the golf courses in Palm Springs. Nevada gets the smallest piece of the Colorado of any of the 7 States in the Colorado Compact, AZ is way down the list, too... though we are very proud in AZ of having one of the best water conservation records.

The new full pool or conservation level or whatever it is called is 3640. If the lake is above 3640 in September then there is more water sent downstream to Lake Mead.
So......if we get several (at least 5) years in a row of hitting that mark, and triggering extra releases downstream to Mead, then at some point, Mead would have enough water to not RECEIVE the trigger point at 3640? Makes sense to me...
