Bullfrog Area

Thanks guys. Been getting everything ready today. Im certain you all understand the anticipation.
Just stayed at the campground and had no issues. As Bart said, if no ticket on the post and no stuff in the site you are good to go. I was surprised how busy it was. With only one loop open there were only a few sites left each night (and that is during the week). It appears they are almost done with the upgrades to A loop installing water, power and sewer to each site. The were also messing around in C loop so maybe will open as well.

I have a feeling that the campgrounds (both at Halls and Bullfrog) are going to become more popular with the docking/launching uncertainty. We've already cancelled our first houseboat trip of the year due to the dock shuffling. Instead, we'll likely take our camper and stay local to the marinas. There's still a lot to do nearby. From memory, the RV Park at Halls is a bit nicer than Bullfrog, but the campground at Bullfrog is much nicer than the one at Halls (in my opinion). YMMV

Anyway, I wanted to mention that when using the campgrounds you should select an open campsite and dump some/all of your gear there FIRST. Then go back to the kiosk and pay. I've witnessed some sad/angry encounters when the order is reversed and a site is no longer available after payment is made.

WOW

What a mess at bullfrog/halls.

This is a clear illustration of what happens with exclusive contracts - free market with competition would not allow this, the losers would be allowed to lose and the winners would lift and win.

It is sad that anything connected to NPS or Aramark has instant predictable emotion of misses and failure. I have zero confidence that any of this will be complete by end of season let alone by memorial.

No commitment on water and electric and a high possibility of not being able to stay on your boat due to blasting. Hmmmm - get a leader not a manager in there to create a dated action list and a results list starting with blasting. Managers are good at making excuse lists - Aramark and NPS have managers not leaders.

The client expectation and goal is 100% completion by Memorial Day, not June 15 with a lazy extension to August.

If this issue was managed by Maverick the paint would be dry 1 week early and the bushes would be ready for a trim on opening day.

Folks, i would set your expectation to zero, be prepared for absolute failure across all levels, that way if there is any progress it will be a bonus and not a negative impact. Relying on Aramark for transport will have people lined up waiting for broken equipment to get fixed or drivers to show up or the gas pump to get refueled.

With a protected exclusive agreement there is zero motivation to succeed. Stack this with minimum wage employees who are not appreciated and the pattern won’t disappoint.

The wrong signs on all the camps sites clarifies the ability of the team in play - they do not care…

Aramark will be focused on their profit centers and that is it. The rental dock will probably be functional. They will probably have a rental boat tied off for restrooms…

Exit option is probably the only solution you control at Powell for a long time.

Today will look like 1983 compared to next year by end of August.

Good luck.
True, but sad, statements.

I just drove through the Bullfrog campground
Loop A is closed but looks like the put full hookups at every site, not sure when they will be available,,
Loop B and C are at least 90% available, very few campsite used,
Yesterday ( Sunday ) just for a recon mission drove around to Halls to check the slips,
Very long steep walk to the marina, but they plan to have multiple porters to hall you and your stuff up and down,
That campground has full hooks ups and maybe there was just one occupied, so wide open. Not as nice as Bullfrog, but usable.

Okay, you're talking about the Halls RV Park. It's not a bad setup - even has it's own convenience store. The Halls Campground has 40+ spaces and is primitive. If they had updated the campground, it would be quite newsworthy. That's why I kept trying to clarify.

Thanks for sticking with me. :)

Just got back from staying at Bullfrog Campground , Loop A is close to being completed Middle of June ? , Talked Aramark employee .
It has 30 amp and 50 amp , water . Loop C was opened on Thursday or Friday . I came in on Wednesday night at 12 and there where only 3 spots open
The ramp is a joke , the plate has shifted and they need to get some gravel dumped , to fill the gap and drop offs , They should spend just a little bit of effort on improving the condition that it is in . . KSL was ahead of me filming at the ramp . on Sunday morning .
