Bullfrog Area

Spent the weekend at Bullfrog.

1- General. A lot more activity on Friday and Saturday than I had expected with boaters. Very limited resources by service providers at the lake. No one really knows anything about what is happening or going to happen

2- Campground. We pulled in late Friday night and found there was only one loop open in the campground. It was completely full and it appeared about 80-90% of the spots had reservations.

3- RV Park. Only 5 spots have service. The others are all marked out of service. Appears you need to have advanced reservations.

4- Executive Ramp. Launching small boats with no problem. The indications from conversations is the cutoff is 3519. Currently at 3526. The belief is the ramp will be usable until mid-June but I have no idea what that is based on. Obviously, inflows and outflows will determine what and when but the people at Exec services are telling me the expectation is mid-June.

5- They have moved the rental fleet and one of the private slip lines over to Halls's Crossing. Starting May 4 they are going to move the balance of the private slips over to Hall's. They move one whole line at a time complete with boats in the slips. When the move is completed there will be no slips or on water services at Bullfrog is what I understand. Starting May 4 there will be limited ramp ways. Currently, you have to go south of the previous entry spot to get to Executive Services. The indication is renters will need to go to Hall's but they are apparently planning on doing water taxi service out of Bullfrog. Best to check for sure.

6- Main Channel. They moved us from our spot in the Hall's Crossing buoy field further north. The area where the buoy field was is now empty. The rental fleet is to the south of the Halls Creek slips. The channel has narrowed up a lot. as your turn north to get to the buoy field the entire channel is marked off as a no wake zone for a stretch before reaching the buoy field.

7- Stanton Creek. Took my first drive down to Stanton Creek. The terminus is right across from the new location of the buoy field and basically lined up with where the ferry dock was. The road starts out fairly good and is graveled. I am guessing it is well maintained there to get to the waste treatment plant. Once you get to the pay station for the campground the road narrows up a lot and gets a lot rougher. It appears to be about 4 miles from the turnoff to the lake. I can see how this drainage into the main channel would pose some benefits as opposed to Bullfrog bay which just keeps shrinking but there is an awful lot of roadbuilding and infrastructure that would be required to make it a full time launch point. I didn't get clear to the lake and only know what I observed today.

8- Bullfrog Main Ramp. They have a couple of bulldozers at the end of the ramp and they have been pushing dirt out to the island that has appeared. No one I talked to seemed to know what they are doing but it sure looks like they are preparing it to provide for lake access.

I will upload some pictures:

Hey Slots,
Great info! We are heading there Wednesday. Gosh, I wonder if they will open another loop for overflow?
It sounds like we had better try to make reservations?

At the campground they are working at loop A ,adding sewer ,water and power ?Loop C was flooded by the monsoon in October. When you see a reserved spot it could be they have not changed the sign over from the prior tenant.
The Campground is being ran by Aramark . And to Aramark standards
