Boat / Vessel Names

I' ve always howled at the boat in the "Non Sequitor" comic strip named Anoesis but it may be a bit too esoteric for some. If I were naming a fishing boat, I'd call it "A Frayed Knot". A houseboat - "Almosta Yacht" "Weak Ender" or "All A Loan"
Pretty clever names

When I was a teenager long ago there was a boat in a slip in the marina in Navajo Lake the name on the boat was “Happy Bottom”. When I asked the owner why the name he said, “My wife’s name is Gladys”.

So back in the mid 90s when I was a young and naive, I set up camp with some buddies and a brand new boat in Cha. We took off one morning and hiked all the way upcanyon to where it meets the North Rainbow Trail (where Teddy reportedly spent the night). Six hours later we come rolling back to camp only to find 6-8 ravens having an absolute party on my 19 foot Tahoe! Pringles, hot dug bun remnants, granola wrappers, cookie packaging, and raven poop were all over the boat. Worst of all, they had pecked through a couple soda and beer cans which leaked all over and baked in the summer sun! I swear they even took it out wakeboarding! Alas, the RavenHaven was christened that evening while catfishing from the shore.

Our boat is the Bearacorn. Just our nicknames put together. I just thought it was cute at the time, I later found out my wife thought it was a clever scheme on my part. She isn't much if a water baby and not that into boats. She thought I did it so she couldn't hate the boat and had to like it. I didn't feel the need to correct her.. :D

I don’t have my own boat yet but my wonderful father in law lets me use his 19.5’ Lund Tyee from June to the end of September. (He lives in Lake Havasu and it’s to hot during the summer for him to use.) When I do get my own boat I am going to name it Greyvee. My wife’s name is Grey.

Great thread! I used to love the boat names my dad had for our boats when I was younger. A few I remember..."Great Escape", "Joint Venture" and "The FN Boat". I've had my Sea Ray for twenty two years and we finally named her a few years back. Our last name is Eakle, and I've had quite a few unpleasant fecal experiences in my life. So we went with "Eakle Matter" My wife hates it, but my buddies love it! Our second boat is simply "Number two" You kind of have to know the name of our first boat to understand the second name. My wife says if I buy one more boat I can be an admiral! We had some friends who's last name is Wood. We named their boat "Morning Wood." Fun times!
