Blue notch camping

Hello! We are normally a boat camping crew but this year we wanted to try our bumper pulls on blue notch road. Never been. Is there spots to pull larger campers/ toy haulers and stay a few nights? Don’t want to get into hard areas with the campers but ride the Utv from camp to the lake. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

No . You can't pull them in at all. There is a spot just off the blacktop where folks park and ride in. It's exposed to the road and full sun.

Road is as good as it gets right now. They bladed it recently.

And I totally agree with @upthecreek is posting , you can park and camp where they stop maintaining the road and drive in your side by side in from there.

Soooo. Where do they stop maintaining the road? Right off the pavement? Why can’t we go in a bit and pull off? Just wondering

They blade the road most of the way in, every once in a while. Your trailers will need to stop about 1/4 mile from the blacktop.

dallas,that is basically same rig i have.sturdy kayak/canoe cart(s) can be helpful.that ebike in walk or maybe ride mode could aid in the takeout.

I expect the water levels will cause a lot more people to wonder if Blue Notch is an option. I hope they scout it first to save themselves a world of trouble.

By campers you mean camp trailers ? Stanton creek near bullfrog is really your only option.

I have seen people tow in 16’ aluminum boats and thought they were crazy. Camp trailers just aren’t designed for the tight turns and drop offs. I have seen specific Moab type trailers that are very short and tall that could make it. The overlander type trailers.

By campers you mean camp trailers ? Stanton creek near bullfrog is really your only option.

We have been to stanton many times and are looking to explore. We are not trying to pull all the way to the water - just in a bit to find a place as a base camp to ride and play.

I believe the county maintenance goes down near to the high water line. You can see where that is if you look on google earth and pan in. You are still quite a long distance from the current water line…

you should look at some of the blue notch threads lots of road info, i was there i early march the road was bad , there are 13 creek crossings they were all bad took time to weave thru the boulders and shovel sand banks ,as i was leaving the county grader was finishing the road much better now that leaves the last mile two steep rocky hills , there tough and rocky , best of luck you will find out how rough in the first mile .no cell service at the notch unless you have star link be careful have fun . ps. there are plenty of camp places where the county stops grading.
