It was not a ranger but game and fish . He said the county canceled all camping in the county and the fine was $680.
 
So if I fella had a houseboat in the slips in bullfrog as a base camp then motored around fishing during the day and came back to base that’s allowed? And the bullfrog fuel dock? Anyone have any intel on them !! Need to know how many extra tanks to bring down!😁
 
San Juan commission has a grudge over Trumps monument resizing. And against the state over redistricting. It’s payback time. But getting the NPS rangers to do their dirty work is pretty low.
 
Our country is at war according to our president. He has requested you stay at home and keep everyone safe. He estimates over 100,000 people will die in the next few weeks if we don't as everytime we fail to follow his instructions to stay home and stay safe we can and will cause people to die as we unknowingly or knowingly add to the risk of catching,transporting or infecting others with the virus that we may not even know we have in times when resources are limited and first responders are risking their lives show a little respect by not becoming part of the problem and do as you have been asked STAY AT HOME and KEEP YOUR FAMILIES SAFE PLEASE.

You're entitled to your opinion. The great thing about this country is our freedom. I encourage people to socially distance by fishing and taking the precautions that socially distancing entails. I fish with my immediate family, so I'm posing no additional risk than staying at home with them. If others stay home as you suggest, it just makes the fishery more wide open. Win-Win
 
I don't see much difference in my family of four self-quarantining in our home or staying on the lake in our Cabin Cruiser. We are planning a trip to Halls Crossing this weekend. We expect to see and speak with no one, both for their safety and ours. "STAY AT HOME"? Try "USE COMMON SENSE". There are some Constitutional issues involved, but we can move that discussion to the "Issues" forum.

PS: I do understand San Juan County attempting to limit the chances of their hospitals being overrun, as both Blanding, Monticello, and Moab hospitals are quite small. Though patients can pretty easily be transported to places like Grand Junction that have larger facilities
 
Unfortunately the National Guard has already been called out to the surrounding area as medical resources are overwhelmed. Accidents do happen at Lake Powell requiring medical attention. In this current situation in overwhelmed locations even a minor accident requiring medical attention will most likely cause someone's death. This risk is why you need to do what the president has asked. This is a small thing to ask as others risk their lives trying to deal with this deadly situation. Recreational areas have already proven to be a higher risk than rural surrounding areas and the reason San Juan county has put travel restrictions in place.

Keeping people locked in their houses for months at a time with no job has some serious risks as well. Our governor is a businessman. He hopefully is weighing all these issues. If you kill the mental and economic health of the 99% to save the physical health of the 1% what have you really gained? Governor Cuomo said the at risk population is 1-2%. Sounds reasonable to me. Then he said he would willingly kill his economy to save them. Hmmm.

We can only hope NPS has higher priorities than driving around the lake telling people to move from the South shore to the north. If San Juan asks them to hopefully they tell them to shove it.

I feel bad for you. Friggn' govt using any excuse they can to try and exert unconstitutional authority over citizens minding their own business.
