I always use the sp, especially when the water temp is 60 or below .. lucky craft designs the pointer to suspend in 57 degree water .. so right now is the perfect time to throw this bait.. it suspends perfectly .. you can fish it pretty fast as well and get bit , but I fish it a little slower, hope this helps

Also don't be scared to fish it in clear water .... long casts and a faster retrieve can trigger savage strikes even in clear water

Had a real quick trip yesterday, fished from 8 till 1, managed 22 SMB in good hope for two of us, white and black rubber on jig heads and lucky craft pointer in ghost. Got to see Georg from DNR at gas station, been a while. All fish in good shape new trolling motor worked great on the pontoon. Glad to be missing the wind!

Lot's of great info here. Thanks for posting. My blood pressure goes up a little with the mention of the reefs. I think I have hit my share but God only knows.

flagpowell.....I have been using the SP pointer. But I just bought a couple DD as well to try out. I troll with mine a bit and thought it would be good to try a couple different depths.

I am trying to find the Lucky Craft 78 XD pointer in chartreuse shad or ghost color. Tackle Warehouse has them back ordered until May or June. Does anyone have a source where I can buy one now. I only have one left

Isn't it interesting that we get hung up on a certain lure that worked last week and cant live without it??? I am sure there are a lot of lures that work just as well but his one has been good to me lately and I don't want to leave the dock without one.

Live Target threadfin shad in copper/silver has also been a good springtime striper lure for me.

I made a trip to Pennsylvania and visited Bass Pro. They had healthy stock of OUR favorite Lucky's in both colors. Even had 65 HD which I have never tried before. Order on line
